Great pic. Think you could put it behind a cut? :)

boobies are allowed above cut. Read the rules.

you always get so defensive about this and it's such a reasonable request, idgi

I love boobies as much as the next person, tasteful nudity or otherwise, but sometimes I am browsing my flist when there are kids around or whatever, and a cut for this sort of thing would definitely be appreciated in such instances so I don't have to always be Explaining Myself.

I know people sometimes are too lazy to just click cut links, but maybe you could do a boobie-free preview above the cut to entice people to come in and look at the whole thing? idk

Well, if you gonna browse LJ and being member of Vintagephoto, you gotta be aware of you will see boobies above cut.

As an administrator of this group i gotta leave CLEAR that nudity above waist is ALLOWED here , with no preview or warnings or cut

Those are the rules of this group, wheter you like it or not. Sorry.

If you have any doubt or complain about this, PM Sokkmonkey. He will say the same thing i did.

I realise it's allowed, yes. you have established that. also I've been a member since forever, I know the rules.

that won't stop me from questioning them occasionally, however. I do think that it is a silly rule, because - again - it's not as though people asking for a cut are being stupid and unreasonable. they generally have good reasons for going out of their way to ask, and I don't see why people here always have to get defensive and inflexible when it comes to accommodating such things, is all. putting it under a cut takes two seconds, it's not like anyone is asking you to saw your hand off.

I understand you , but im not sharing your point of view. Its not our fault if someone joins this grouop without reading the rules where its clearly stated what its allowed and whats not.

Its their bussiness if they browse the site at their work or with people around, now ours.

This has been a neverending discussion, you can ask as many times as you want to put this kind of pictures behind cut, it will depend of the user if he/she wants to put in under cut or not. I wont and i will say every time to that user to PLEASE read the rules before complaining. Sorry.

if this was vintage_sex I would totally understand your viewpoint on browsing etiquette; I would even agree with you, because browsing that community at work/at home where someone undesirable could see is just idiotic. but since it's not...

I just think it's a shame when a community as cool as this one puts so little stock in the opinions of its members. I love the content but sometimes I wonder if it's worth it, trading interesting vintage pictures for mods who don't give a shit.

I repeat...if you dont like the rules, the door is big and can be closed from outside.

Have a nice day ^^

You can very easily stop 'watching' the community so it won't show up on your friends page. That way when you do want to see it, you need to actually go the the community to read posts, etc.
Go to the Comm. profile page and up in the far right hand corner there is a link that should say "modify watch". At the bottom of the next page, just hit "remove". That way you are still a member, but community posts won't show up on your friends page if you are browsing at work, with the kids around, etc.

*sigh* Should have known that would be your response, LOL! Wow, I was just trying to offer an option.

Oh, and you're welcome.

I don't care that there's nudity, I honestly don't. what I'm bothered by is the lack of respect shown by mods to certain members. I fully realise that not every request/concern can be catered to, I've modded communities before myself and sometimes the shit people tell you and ask you to do is just ridiculous. but it takes two seconds to go 'put this behind a cut? ok, not a problem' and then move on.

Well looking at your initial post, this was about nudity, so that's what I responded to.
The comm mods responded to it by simply stating the rules.
You then changed the subject.
Regardless of weather or not you feel insulted by the mods, the option I suggested above should at least fix your initial concern with the nudity you and your children might see here.

no it wasn;t about nudity. it involved nudity, yes, and I was being sympathetic as to the reasons behind the original commenter"s request, but I was hardly advocating censorship due to puritanical sensibilities.

also I have no concerns about nudity, nor do I have kids. the presumption in here is ridic.

anyway, have a pleasant day.

Sorry, this is an international community and the world is not full of puritans; It's not a matter of not giving a shit, it's a matter of "the globe" where breasts are acceptable, or "the US" where corporations dictate formula is more important than having your babies mouth touch those icky icky things that make jesus cry ( ... )
