Alright, well now that all my depressing entries have been written, I guess I shall try to describe my how these past 2 weeks have went, and my desert trip this weekend.
It all started with my dad, stepmom, sister and I going up to Lake Elsinore for New Years. Originally, Bryan's family was supposed to come up then too so we could all ring in the New Year together. That never happened, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little upset. I thought they were avoiding me or something, because they didn't come over that entire weekend. But that wasn't the case at all. They were just tired.
What was cool was that Kory came up for New Years, and Alex and Andrew got along fairly well with him. He was fun to hang around with for a weekend. Denise, Kory and I played the alphabet game on the way up to Lake Elsinore. He lost, I won. "Nuff said! :) Anyhow, on Sunday I decided that I wanted to stay up there for a week or so since the boys didn't have school. Thankfully, my dad and aunt keitha said it was okay, and Bo was going to bring me back on the weekend.
Well, Bryan and his family came over on Tuesday, which was awesome. Nonni asked if the boys and I would mind coming over on Wenesday, to help her clean Thursday and Friday before her surgery the following Monday. Of course we agreed to help her, and on Wenesday night I got to go to Bryan's house for the very first time. His room is awesome!! He has all this neat stuff. Anyway, Wenesday was just a "chill" night. I ended up falling asleep on his bed, so Bryan was a gentleman and decided to just go sleep out in the living room so I could have the nice comfy bed.
Thursday, we woke up somewhat early and just kind of lounged around until Nonni started hammering us to really help her. So, while she went to her doctor's appointment, Andrew and I dusted the entertainment center, and everything that was on the entertainment center, while Alex vacummed, and Bryan and Alex dusted the bookshelf, and the items on the shelf. Apparently, Nonni wasn't satisfied with the job we did, cuz she started laughing when she checked everything out. All in all though, we had an amazing time that night because unbeknowest to me, it was Nonni's birthday.
So, Nonni drove Bryan, Alex, Andrew and I over to the casino that she works at, and then Mark met us there as we ate dinner. It was awesome. We had the Early Bird Special, and I chose the chicken strips which were great. I also had this really good salad and dinner roll with a coke!! Then we all got to sing happy birthday to her, which was fun.
I got to talk with Bryan's dad a lot too. He's such a funny guy!! We had the most interesting conversations. For example, during dinner we started talking about the movie "Open Water" which is pretty creepy, but such a cheaply made movie. Somehow though, that got us on the discussion of what would happen if we got our leg torn off by a shark, and only had one leg to kick with, out in the middle of the ocean. Then Andrew jumped in with some funny comments, along with Bryan and Alex and it was just an amazingly funny conversation.
Then after that, we all went to the movies. Mark, Alex, Bryan and I saw The Grudge, while Nonni and Andrew saw Shall We Dance. It was so funny, because Nonni and Andrew started dancing out of the movie theater. He actually enjoyed the chick flick!! It was kind of cute. I had to hide my eyes on Bryan's shoulder the whole time during The Grudge though, because it was such a freaky movie. Bryan even jumped!! So did his dad. It was funny.
On Friday, I ended up staying another night because Bryan and his family invited me to go to this christmas party that Nonni's family was having on Saturday. They all seemed very nice, and I even got to participate in the gift exchange, and recieved this wonderful photo-frame box, that had reindeer and christmas tree's on the side. I put this baby picture of Bryan on the front, because it was just way too cute. Inside the box was an artifical christmas tree, with little mini presents, and mini nativity ornaments to adorn the tree with. I ended up spending the night on Saturday again, because we got home late, plus it was raining pretty hard.
Sunday, I went back to Alex's and Andrews around 8:30, and pretty much played some Halo, then went to sleep.
So after I returned from Bryan's house, Monday-Thursday I just kind of sat around while the boys were at school. I read some, slept some, called Denise on the phone a couple of times, and then played Halo and Halo 2 with the boys when they came home from school.
I also helped them with their homework, which was actually fun!! I enjoyed doing it, because I knew how to!! I got a call from Bryan too, while he was at the hospital with his mom. He told me her surgery went fine, and I got to talk to her for a little, which was cool. Then on Thursday, I called him and got to talk to him peacefully for about 15 minutes until Alex found out I was on the phone with him, and got on the other extension and started talking to him too.
Then, while we were all on the phone, Bryan called his friend Danny which was cool cuz Danny is such a riot! Then, I invited him on the desert trip which was cool although for a little while it didn't seem like he was going to go, because Alex was pissing him off when he wouldn't let him talk to an adult about the trip.
However, on Friday, Nonni called while I was sleeping, so I called her back and figured everything out. She talked to Scott and Scott said that he would pick Bryan up when he got home from school, and after he ran a few errands. Then, Scott and I spent about 20 minutes talking about his past girlfriends, highschool years, my past boyfriends, and all of this really cool stuff that I never knew about Scott before. It was awesome. Then he asked me if I wanted to go with him to pick Baily up at school, then run to a motorcycle store with him, and then pick up Bryan. I went with him, which was cool because that gave me time to get out of the house, and spend a good hour and a half just talking with Bryan before the boys came home and mobbed him.
Later, while Scott was preparing everything for the trip, I spent some good quality time with Baily and we went on a walk which was fun although he was getting a little rambunctious. Then, after everything was packed we all headed up to the desert. We met at a halfway point, because a lot of Scott's friends were coming and we ate at Carl's Junior. We wanted to run and play on the playground, but it was closed!! Denise and I were majorly bummed. Then, Bryan wouldn't steal me some ribbon that was hanging off the light fixture. Alex tried to, but it wouldnt' come off so he stopped trying. Double bummer!! Denise and I also wanted to run around Ralphs, but no-one else wanted to, so that just made everything so much sadder. *Tears*. But it was fun, because we had some pretty amusing conversations.
After we were on the road again, (Scott, Alex, Bryan and I in Scott's truck, and Andrew, Baily, and Denise in Uncle Larry's van) we listened to crappy Eminem, and then this really old school song, and then some hardcore rap/hip-hop music which I liked for a change!! When we reached the desert, we didn't do much except sit around the fire with Phil, and Scott, and all of us kids till like 3 in the morning, which was fun.
Saturday, we rode the quads, and Scott was teaching all of us how to do it. I was so nervous, because I did not want to stall the quad. But Scott taught me this trick of not letting out the clutch too fast which seemed to work, because after awhile he told me I was doing a beautiful job. *Smiles*.
Sunday, we did the same thing, riding and all of that. However, the 110 did not come as easily to me as riding the quad (and shifting it into second gear!) did. Taking out half a bush and ending up with huge gashes on your leg and hips was an experience I shall never forget. Later that night, Andrew and I took a walk across the desert, and over a sand dune singing "This Land Is Your Land" while he sang some demented version to the same tune. It was funny. And he got so excited about this really soft sand and was all "Danielle, this is a memorable moment!! Feel how soft this sand is!!!" He was so funny, considering he got run over with the quad. That night, I was incredibly sad because I knew tommorow I would have to leave, go home to something that doesn't make me happy anymore.
However, I enjoyed making a fire with Alex, Bryan and Denise. It was so funny because we tried to make the fire stay longer, and we werent allowed to use any of the wood, because it was going to be used for Monday morning. So Alex borrowed Bryan's knife and went around in the wilderness cutting down trees, bushes, anything that would stoke the fire. I grabbed paper towels and threw them in there. Bryan was even going to steal the toilet paper from the bathrooms, or try and steal firewood from some of our neighbors. Alex threw old school papers in the fire, and we tried getting this one log to burn, but it wasn't catching on fire which pissed us all off. We cut up boxes, ripped open anything. It was so funny. Eventually, we ran out of materials, so we just headed to our tent.
Although, Bryan and Alex pretended to hump our tent and I accidently hit him in his balls when it got annoying. Bryan was laughing so hard, I thought he would combust. Then, Alex and Bryan were making moaning sounds and Bryan was being so nasty! Then Andrew, who was in our tent, started singing Kumbiyah and Bryan and Alex just kept on moaning. It was pretty hilarious.
Monday, I went on one last ride on the quad and then the time just flew by. I was sad, but I knew that I had to leave. However, I am determined to go back up there, if not permanently, because for one, my cell phone got left up there!! So, I need that back!! I miss them already.
It takes so much out of me to pretend.
