My Top Five Arthur & Guinevere Scenes.

Honourable mention

Purely because I love the smile they give each other, and they are so genuine. Gwen's face says it all really, she knows that they cannot be, it'll never work. And Arthur's so happy. Plus, they're both gorgeous.

5.
'Because I have faith in you.' Moment Of Truth

We'll be fine
How can you be so sure?
Because I have faith in you- I mean we all do.

It's their first real scene together, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. This is also the scene that made me start watching Merlin, and effectively shipping them. And the introduction of 'Guineveeere.' Love it. Wish he would say my name like that. Gwen talks back to Arthur, she has this inner courage, and is not afraid to stand up to others, even if she shys away afterwards. And because of what she does, Arthur begins to respect her as an equal.

4.
'Things will be different,' The Once and Future Queen

I'm afraid my father would never understand.
Perhaps when you are King, things will be different.

This scene is just so simple, but so effective. With a few sentences the audience immediately understand their situation and how hard it must be for them. And it so beautiful to watch. My heart aches for them. They want to be together but can't be. It also seems that Gwen had a lot more faith tin their relationship at the beginning to their story. She believes that they may be together when he becomes King, but as the series progresses, her faith and hope in them decreases.

3.
'Is what I want really that insane?' The Changeling

I know you said it isn't what you wanted, but I also know that you can't always have what you want. I know that very well.

So this scene only aired in Saturday, but it just shot into my top 5. The realisation that Arthur must marry Elena is so hard on them both. Ad to Arthur it seem insane that he should marry someone he does not love, but as Gwen says in the scene, it wouldn't to anyone else. I love the angst and this scene was brilliantly acted by both Angel and Bradley, I mean look at the tears starting to well up in their eyes. They want to share their love with others, but can't, It's heartbreaking.

2.
'I've never love another,' Sweet Dreams

My feelings for Vivian were not real, I've never loved another.
One day you will. One day you will find your real princess. One day you will be King of Camelot and I cannot be your queen.

After all that has happened in the episode it's understandable that Gwen should feel like this. She doesn't have the hope in their relationship that she used to. Her faith in Arthur however, never wavers. He will be a great King, but she does not see how they will ever work. In her mind Princes are supposed to marry Princesses, not handmaidens. And Arthur is so convinced that they can and will be together, and is trying to persuade her to believe in them, but he can't, and it's so head to watch. My heart bleeds for them both.

1.
The Kiss, The Once and Future Queen

No words really necessary here. This scene is beautiful. Beautifully filmed, beautifully acted, and a beautiful score. What more could you want. It also blends in so well to what we have seen in the episode, it flows so well. An innocent, sweet and natural first kiss. And it's nice and long, so that always helps. Angel, you're pretty.
