I'm trying to see what I do to get something similar for a party in July. (Currently rocking 12 wave clips, 12 brush/mesh curlers and 6 pin curls on my melon, to 'see what it does'.)
Failing that, I'd like to do something with water/finger waves, but for the life of me, I can't imagine what women did with their hair in the back. I'd really like to avoid cutting my hair short, and honestly, if I do manage to get water/finger waves right, I know that I won't be able to wave the back anyway. (Currently, my hair is collarbone length in the front, and bottom-of-the-neck length in the back with lots and lots and lots of layers)
The problem is, I see many, many wonderful frontal pics of hair, but no pics of what's going on in the back (other than short, waved bobs). I know it was still the style in the 1930s to have short hair, but I find it hard to imagine that all these women cut their hair short. Every now and then I get glimpse of what looks like a bun or a roll, but I'm not ever sure.
So ladies and gents, just what was going on back there? Buns? Tiny snoods? Rolls? Aliens? I'm really hoping folks can direct me to some inspirational/explainational images.
As always, thanks in advance.
