Ghosties
I really really want to go on the University of Toronto Ghost Tour. It seems like so much fun. Danielle wants to come down on a weekend so we can go, I want to invite others to come along too because it seems like a fun group outing! Although, I'm a little worried that it will freak my out because UC is aparently the most famous for it's hauntings.
Basically UC has 2 resident ghosts, Diablos and Reznikoff. Diablos and Reznikoff were employeed by the University as construction workers and both fell in love with the same woman. In a fit of rage Reznikoff chased Diablos down the halls of UC with an axe, swinging at him until finally the axe got wedged in one of UC's wooden doors. While Reznikoff attempted to remove the axe, Diablos pulled a dagger and stabbed Reznikoff to death. Reznikoff was never seen again. After his death, people began reporting sightenings of his ghost. During the reconstruction of the building after UC's famous fire, Reznikoff's body was found buried under a staircase, his head removed from his body. People think that since his body has been brought to it's final resting place that Reznikoff no longer haunts the building, but since his head was never found, people claim his ghost still wonders the halls of UC.
When I first heard this story I thought it was complete crap but aparently there are records of two men by the same name that had worked at the University. Also, there's a very distinct dent in one of the UC doors which is supposed to be the mark left by Reznikoff's axe! Leave it to me to select the most haunted part of campus as my home base! Hart House and Massey are supposed to be haunted as well, but I'm pretty sure they don't have cafes named after there resident ghosts!
