Please note: The following conversation happens to me at LEAST once per day, in some variation.

User: I need help fixing a link on my site.

Me: Okay, I can help you with that. May I have the login for your account?

User: The web address or the login?

Me: The login.

User: The login?

Me: Yeah. The login.

Me: It should be an email address.

User: What, the login?

Me: Yes. The login should be your email address. Please tell me your login so I can pull up your account?

User: What, you need me to tell you the login?

Me: Yes.

User: It's mywebaddress.com .

Me: No, actually, I need the LOGIN, not your web address.

User: Yeah, it's mywebaddress.com .

Me: No, that's your web address. That's what you use to view your website. I need your LOGIN, it's what you LOG IN with. It's probably your EMAIL ADDRESS. Like, joe@blah.com . Or john@yahoo.com . Something like that.

User: That's what I just told you, mywebaddress.com .

Me: Let's try this again. What would I have to put in if I were going to send you an email?

User: dumb@threelettercompany.com .

Me: Thank you. dumb@threelettercompany.com is your LOGIN. That's what you use to LOG IN with.

User: Well yeah, that's what I log in with, but my web address is mywebaddress.com .

Me: ::::head, meet desk. desk, meet head. you will become very closely acquainted over the next half hour.::::
