My boyfriend and I have been going out since our sophomore year. We're at the end of our junior year now, and we're worried about what's to happen to us in the future.
It's not the fact that we're worried about staying together, we're okay with that. It's just... he thinks he's not good enough. He's an average student, but he thinks he's still going to fail in life. He ALWAYS, ALWAYS says "oh, you can find better." He thinks he's not good enough for me, and I always tell him he is. I don't understand why he degrades himself so.
I convinced him about a year ago to see a therapist, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I know he'll be okay in the end, he just can't see it. How can I get the message through that he'll be okay after we graduate?
It would help if I could present him with statistical proof and real-life stories in which he could realize that HIS story isn't a bad one.
