Since I don't know how to post videos so they can be seen, I won't do another post. But I also thought of the Slinky commercial. I listened to lots of them on youtube, but none of them are quite like the one I remember, which is used in this video of "Slinky Cat":

It's fairly simple to post videos on LJ: 1) From the posting window, hit "Post an Entry"

2) Copy the "posting code" from your YouTube video (can be found under the curvy arrow that points backward near the "share" button: hit that)

3) Go to the third menu-the one with a lot of icons-above your LJ window; click on the right-facing arrow, and it should open a box that says "Insert Media."

4) Paste the code into the "HTML editor" window on the LJ page; if the code is good, you should see a window of the video you're trying to display. Hit the button that says "Insert."

5) That should do it; anyone who has any corrections for the above procedure, please share!

This works best for me: when you're in YouTube, click on "share" right under the video, then click on "embed" then copy the web address that gets listed below that button to your clipboard and paste it into your Live Journal post. (But my laptop's a dinosaur, so ymmv)
