If I took the effort to go out to eat and someone shoved that in front of me I'd walk out. That's crap food.

Geez, no wonder people didn't go out much in those days, if that was what was expected. It's easily just as much work for a parent to clean up the kids, dress them in their best clothes, keep them clean while she cleans up and gets dressed in her best clothes herself to go out as it is just to cook at home. In fact I'd rather cook at home!

Uggh. Just a slab of ham with overcooked vegetables. Why go out? You can make that at home.

My mom forced me to wear white suede shoes called "white bucks". I hated them they were so uncomfortable. Even going downtown on the bus.
