Did they really think we were gonna blast some 'little green men' w/tanks?

But in all honestly, minus those two aspects, the makers are fairly accurate.

I could do without the giant Gemini capsule and whatever that phallic thing is that's suporting the space station.

Other than those, I'd seriously love to have that set.

For shame, mistaking a Project Mercury capsule for a Gemini!

- And far from being giant, that's the only thing that's to scale! Those lunar vehicles are NOT built to the scale of the “Moon men.”

And I'm guessing the space station is "in perspective, as seen from the ground in orbit"? :D

It's undoubtedly circular, but yah, maybe 2" across…

The top of that 'moon mountain' suggests a graveyard, with all those crucifixes and cenotaphs and obelisks and like that. In a thousand (or on the Moon, a million) years it might be taken for just that, with all the paint faded and microdust covered into a uniform grey…

That's a heavily armed moon base! I guess the Reds were going to sortie from their hidden Farside base; it's well to be prepared.

Interesting to see the two guys who look like they're in R2D2 costumes, on far right and left: That's basically a man-mobile spaceship, like carrying a circular phone booth around - in 1/6 gravity you could get away with that.

I want that! And all for $8.88 (not, oddly, $8.99)? How much was that back then?

One website suggests $65.
