The 1985 feature by Winnipeg genius John Paizs. He was doing retro 1950s films before most others.
The style reminds me of Jamie Travis' films which came much later of course.

Unlike some English Canadian cities, Winnipeg seems to encourage and appreciate their film artists. The city has many filmmakers that are famous throughout the world. Guy Maddin, John Paizs, Noam Gonick, etc.
