Calendar Suggestions Please!!
Please give me suggestions for next year's event calendar! I have always included every suggestion into the calendar. I sometimes ask for clarification of your idea, cuz I can have the dumbz at times; but I use every one of them. Whether you post or just look, Y'ALL ARE VALUABLE MEMBERS OF THIS COMMUNITY!! You have every right to suggest something whether you post, only comment, or just lurk! You can post your suggestions on this post, send me a LJ DM, or email me ljvintageads(at)gmail.com
We're going to go back to having the month's theme being what the month is (at time of posting) known as and instead of spreading out such events throughout the year, as we did this year, it'll be focused throughout that month. However, you're ALWAYS welcome to post any Vintage Ad at any time!!!
The month's themes will be, PLEASE help me out here!!! I propose a month focused on Education, and another on Veterans as there's a couple months without a theme, one possible redundancy; and then a month with 2 themes.
January: Well, it doesn't have one, wanna make it something? What do you suggest? Or what I propose above?
February: Black History Month
March: Women's History Month
April: Arab American Month
May: Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month AND Jewish American Heritage Month (couldn't they have put one of these in January or August or December? Y'all want to move one of them to one of those months? Is that okay?)
June: LGBTQ+ Pride Month
July: Disability Pride Month
August: Doesn't have one, should we put one of May's here? Should we make up something?
September: Hispanic Heritage Month
October: It's LGBT History Month, now I understand the difference between the two; but if you feel this is redundant; would you like to focus on LGBTQ+ Allies? Tho we'd have that during June. What do you think? PLEASE KNOW I mean absolutely ZERO disrespect to the LGBTQ+ community by this suggestion. I have been an ally most of my life. Again, I understand the difference in this 2 months and events; however, we can somehow really make them different? We'll probably everything in June. Please help with suggestions/ideas/etc.
November: Native American Heritage Month
December: Also doesn't have a theme.
Yes, Korean War Veterans Day will be done, everyone celebrates their birth year on my birthday, Bowie breaks the rules January 8-10, Purple/Royalty for Prince, I mean, I say this a lot, I shouldn't be in charge of things. HAH! I do however have a Star Wars event around the day it came out (May 25th) and it'll never be May 4th as I have 2 degrees from Kent State. I might have been 1 in 1970; but I've been to many May 4th remembrance events. If you're in the area, go to the candle light walk May 3rd. On May 4th in that parking lot there's just something in the air, fear and trauma from all those years ago, it's palpable.
Anyway, help me please!! Stop ME from making all the decisions!! Y'all don't want that!! :D
