What up LJ. It's been a while. Long time between posts, nothing new. That's about the only thing that isn't, though.
darkwolph and I are getting settled into our new place nicely. Admittedly, it's been a change for a city-dwelling wolf such as myself. I think it was harder than I anticipated to shift into a slower-paced lifestyle, but the transition is just about complete. I've even gotten used to having to drive 40 minutes to the nearest restaurants. Ain't no thang. Besides...I couldn't ask for a more beautiful place to live, or a more beautiful person to live here with, so yeah. We've recently started climbing more, and I look forward to doing more bouldering and scrambling as we get better as maintaining our stamina at 8,000 feet. Other than that I picked back up P90X (first time since 2005) and am looking forward to progressing through that, maybe get back into the shape I was in earlier this year. Cooking a lot at home helps. Speaking of...being so remote has certainly encouraged me to branch out in my cooking. I've been doing a lot of stuff gathered from various locales along the Spice Route, lots of curries and exotic spices. Problem is, there's no place in town that sells some of the fresh stuff I need...luckily, a local restaurant proprietor has agreed to bring me some back from Ethiopia in October, so I am endlessly stoked (yes, STOKED) by this development.
I also finally bought a car. In keeping with my love for old jew canoes, I found a nice low-mileage 300E...'cause when I hear that the 3.0 I6 in that model is the most reliable engine ever made, well, I just have to find out, don't I? My goal is 500,000 miles. We'll see how that goes.
What else...oh yeah. Crime In Stereo. I've followed them from the beginning and when I Was Trying To Describe You To Someone was released, I hated it...it seemed such a departure from the punk sound I'd been familiar with from years past. I recently gave it another chance, only to discover that it's one of the most emotionally powerful albums I've heard in a long, long time. It's been stuck in my head and it won't go away...so check it out.

If that doesn't move you even a little, then GROW A SOUL, HIPPIE.
Movies...yeah, Inception was great, but it wasn't Nolan's best work. The anti-gravity scene was definitely boner-inducing. Despicable Me continued the recent tradition of strong non-pixar animated films (How To Train Your Dragon, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs.)
Also watched a hybrid of british humour and slasher horror called Severance. If you liked Shaun Of The Dead, it's worth a look. Not AS funny, but then not much is.
That's it. I don't have any pretty sunset pictures to post...don't hate me for it pls.
