The PTB are fucked up. They didn't just take away his free will, but his will to fight against the manipulation. They made him their happy little puppet.

I actually meant for this to be a happy story.
Oops.
My whole idea was what if the powers that be used their ass-hattery for good, i.e. changing the past to give someone a reward.
It was meant to be Angel/Willow in a good way.
And the PTB didn't take away his free will. But they gave him a chance to see a "what-if" world, showing him was could have happened, and then it was up to him to keep it.
I'm not sure about Wes and Gunn.
I think they probably both hooked up with Fred to form a naughty trinity.

LMAO, no, I didn't mean it wasn't happy, just that--that very happiness is the PTB fucking with him. And who knows when they'll decide "Okay, you've had enough happiness, time to get back to the mud and blood, Champion."
Part of what makes it chilling is the idea that Angel, of all people, can be this happy, and shows every sign of settling into it without his usual reserve and broodiness. So when the fall comes, it's gonna hurt like a sumbitch.
Unless this really is happily ever after.

Yeah, that I get, but--it's the PTB. When do they ever do anyone a solid without some kinda . . . ookiness waiting in the wings? I want Angel to be happy, but the PTB fuck him over so much, they're hard to trust.
