How is it an honor to be murdered? That's all it is, is murder, the same as any other murder. The same thing happens to your vessels as happens to any other murder victim, and the only difference between you and me is I give my victims the privilege of being able to face what I am doing with no lies or pretenses! If you were to scream, to cry, to curse me and spit on me, you can do so without me feeding you some bullshit about how you should be grateful because even I understand why you'd be furious! If it's some kind of honor, why did they have to be dragged to zero against their will?

It is not murder. It is sacrifice; it is purpose. The blood fuels the sun, it is the genesis of life, it is powerful and sacred. The tributes are as gods before they die. Those who understand give themselves willingly, for the needs of all life surpass their own. I was a life sciences major. I know how nature works. I also know that nothing on Oz or Earth or anywhere you may be is going to fuel a sun. People forget the old rituals. They stop doing them. And the sun goes on. Nature goes on. People become unionist or pfaithist in large numbers, and nothing changes. If they will not release their tributes, I'll take another and try again.

There's a pot boiling on the stove, which she was going to use to make some nice maize gruel. WELL, NO MORE. She picks it up and splashes the boiling water at the woman, intending to weaken and distract her so that Tezcatlipoca could go in for the kill.

[Elphaba let out a loud scream as she began to melt away as if though the water had been made of boiling acid. As she melted, she yelled and cursed at the goddess.]

You wicked little bitch! Look what you've done! I'm melting! I'm meeelting! [And after a bit more screaming, all that was left of Elphaba was goo and clothing.]
