So much has been going on

I keep meaning to update but I never seem to find (let's be honest...take) the time. Basically I still feel completely overwhelmed by my life. Craigslist is the best thing ever and also the bane of my existence.

Long story short - We thought we had a place to live in PA, we also thought we had someone to take over our lease in Boston (actually we thought we had 3 separate couples lined up and all of them fell through after speaking with our landlord). We were wrong on both counts. So it's back to the drawing board.

Our schedules are seriously hectic - I have a fuck ton of work to do at work and I'm barely getting my shit done as it is because there's just too much to do and too little time to do it in. After work I drive anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half to go visit some new potential apartment in PA. Chris meets me there and then we drive our separate cars back to the hotel in Princeton (generally another hour long ride). On the weekends we come back to Boston to show our apartment to people. This is a tiring schedule.

This weekend is a total waste because Craigslist will not let me post my freaking ad! So no one has responded and I'm not showing the apartment to anyone - so freaking frustrating! And I can't come back to Boston until Dec. 11th and we were trying to get someone in here by the 15th - never going to happen now. Actually we were originally targeting the 1st, but that was when we thought we had a house to rent in PA.

We're heading back down tomorrow morning to go look at a house that we spent an hour and a half at Wednesday night. It's a gorgeous house - one of the nicest we've looked at, but it's in a town that has ZERO character. It's hard to go from Charlestown to slightly ghetto grocery stores and crappy strip malls and the only places to eat in a cursory drive around the neighborhood is like 7 different pizza places - all of which look sub par. The house we thought we had has in Haverford, PA. The house was basic - not as nice as this one, but it had everything we really wanted (large nice kitchen, washer dryer, 3 bedrooms, large porch, driveway that fit 2 cars and an almost fenced in year (we could totally make it fenced in). The rent was cheap but it was also within walking distance of lots of character - funky pizza places, small boutiques, cookie stores, gorgeous college campuses for strolling. It was also close to the city. This new place is further out from the city, a bit more expensive and close to Norristown, which is NOT a nice city in PA. The street the house is on is quite cute, but nothing around it really seemed cute. Thus why we need to see this place during the light of day. The owner said that there was a walking trail really close. Assuming I can go for a walk on the walking trail and feel safe, I think this will *hopefully* be the place that we choose to live.

moving sucks
