Jumpers/ Rompers and Other happenings

I think that's the correct term for them. I don't know about everywhere but this trend has been huge in Boston for at least the last month. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, it's like shorts and a tank top in a single pattern put together with an elastic waistband. Yes, it is as bad as it sounds. I hope I'm not offending anyone, but I seriously think this is one of the most hideous trends for adults ever. A jumper is adorable on an 8 year old. A grown woman weighing less than 100 lbs can pull it off (but it still looks dumb in my opinion), but anything larger than that and it's just a train wreck. Ugh, even the name (jumper or romper) is annoying (although I don't find it offensive when Europeans refer to sweaters as jumpers - I actually think that's adorable). I normally don't have such strong opinions on fashion trends but this one really bugs me.

In other news, Chris and I went to a lovely wedding this weekend. My old roommate Bryan got married. The reception was at the Hubbell Homestead in Bennington, VT which I had driven past hundreds of times and always wanted to check out. It had gorgeous views and you couldn't have asked for more perfect weather! It was so fun to see that group of people. It's been almost 2 years since there's been a Festivus, so I got to see people I hadn't seen in years, including my old roommates Cliff and Dave. And I got to hang with Danielle, which is always nice.

Unfortunately, for me, I was triple booked this past weekend and had to miss out on other planned fun. I had bought fan-only no service fee tickets for The Gaslight Anthem and I had carefully picked out the place with the smallest capacity to see my favorite band at - Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, RI. I was super excited about it, yet somehow it didn't occur to me until last Sunday(!!) that the concert and the wedding were the same night. I also had wanted to see Grace & Stephen when they were in NJ, yet somehow managed to misread my e-mails and thought they were coming to NJ the last weekend in August, not July. So while it was a super fun wedding, I'm sorry I missed out on other super fun things this weekend as well.
