I think I'm having a mini Harry Potter mental breakdown ...

I've been reading the Harry Potter books since I was about seven years old. I probably started reading them anywhere from late 2000 to early 2001. The first three books were read to me aloud by my father, already a fan of the books - and Goblet of Fire was the first I read by myself. As we know, the rest is history - a long, twisted, endless history that spread from RP sites to wizard rock, from graphics and icons to YouTube videos and fanmixes. It's connected people all around the world, and I can't even begin to fathom what the bloody hell is going to happen once the final movie comes out.

Will it be anything like the end of the books? Possibly - I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that way. The entire fan community feared for a while that the end of the books would mean the end of an era, the end of friendships, fansites, and the like. While it did seem to mark the end of a true and epic journey, it didn't feel truly over because there were still three movies to be released (even when at that point, we only thought there were two left.)

But this ... this is much different. This really and truly is the end. And I have GOT to stop writing about this shit.
