Is the Moral Majority dead?

May 15, 2007 18:10

Taking a Clement pause for a few minutes, I wanted to mention that, for those of you who haven't heard, Jerry Falwell died. I first read it on the WoW forums (mentioned by TB's #1 asshole Devinicus, no less) and then saw it again on the NCF forum. What's kind of bothering me is that I haven't seen a single response that isn't "OMG HES FINALLY DEAD BURN IN HELL U BASTARD!!!". Like, a man is dead. He'll never see his friends or family again. He'll never get up in the morning to go to work, or have another cup of coffee, or laugh at a stupid joke. I guess he probably doesn't care (being dead and all), but... well, I'm sure his loved ones care.

Eh. Rejoicing when people (even people like Jerry Falwell) die makes me uncomfortable.

Also, our flag is at half-staff. What does that mean?

While I myself have no love for the man (he took it upon himself to destroy "morality"), he's dead. Call me crazy for being somewhat sympathetic, but death, in my eyes, is serious.

death, jerry falwell
