Today was a most excellent day.

Went to breakfast for Mother's Day, and the greasy food helped my hangover. (Coach Keenan had his birthday party last night, and there was much drinking involved. I got him hardcore lesbian porn, a fruity hat, and a magnet-doodle.)

Afterwards, I made the trek over to Arlington to see Lizzy. We went to a park with a blanket, and just layed there for hours, listening to a mariachi band (some mexicans hired a mariachi band for mother's day, and it wasn't even a naked mariachi band. What a waste.) and tickling each other and basically acting 10 years old. It was terrific. Its doing stuff like that that really makes me appreciate being with her. She's incredible.

Then, I drove all the way over to the Dart station at Parker Road over in Plano to meet Tony, Julia and Sasha. We rode the Dart downtown, got some dinner at Iron Cactus, and tried to find our way over to Deep Ellum from there. We finally made it to Gypsy Tearoom in time to see Raul Midon, a blind guitarist/ singer who also makes trumpet sounds with his mouth EXCEPTIONALLY well (enough to play a solo an octave above what he was playing on guitar and be in key the entire time. Blew my mind.)

Then, Jamie Cullum came up on stage. I didn't have that high of expectations, because I haven't been a big fan. Well, he put on a great show, and he's a great musician. I really respect what he does, and I enjoyed the show very much.

Plus, I found out Tony is an SA goon. Good times.

How was your Mother's Day?
