I wrote a new song tonight for my songwriting class. Took me two hours. Its meant to be a duet, and Abby said she would sing it with me. Here it is (M=male singing, a.k.a. me. F=Female singing, a.k.a. Abby. B=both, which I hope you can figure out on your own):
M:
Spend my life subscribed
To an ideal of perfection
And it won't subside
Regardless of my intentions
You read like an open book
So darling, let me take a look
At the words you have yet to inscribe
We stalled out like a broken car
The side of the road is where you are
I fell like a shooting star
Left with a wish that came from afar
And when you're not next to me
My mind is filled with misery
And I want you dearly by my side
F:
I don't think you know what you want
You speak from your head, and not from your heart
Its something you don't recognize
That the love is gone from my eyes
We sputtered out like a flame
The wind came 'round and blew us away
But the breath that put us out was mine
I'm tired of these stupid games
I've moved on, but you're still the same
M:
I don't think I was really that bad
But since you've moved on, I'll pretend I'm glad
F:
Don't try to put up a fight
It's already kept me up at night
You have to realize that I'm gone
(Both singing at the same time, but different lines)
M:
I don't think it was right
I don't think it was time
You don't have the right
To tell me I'm wrong
F:
I think it was right
I think it was time
You don't have the right
To tell me I'm wrong
B:
Don't tell me I'm wrong
Don't tell me I'm wrong
Don't tell me I'm wrong
Incase you can't tell, its about a breakup. BASED ON TRUE EVENTS OZMZMOMGMGMOGM.
In other news, Lizzy sent me a video and it was probably the cutest thing a girl has ever done for me. Defintely made my day a billion times better.
EDIT:
This is why I need a handle bar moustache.
