Maybe I'm not the only one this has happened to. But it shows me, at least, as having been mentally groomed by the history of electronic media.
I was listening to the audio release of The Daleks' Master Plan, a Doctor Who serial from 1965. For those not in the know, the series wasn't made in colour until 1970. I've never seen the story (as most of it missing from the BBC in its visual form), but nonetheless my mental pictures, my 'mind's eye' of the events as I was listening to them were in black-and-white.
Whether that shows historical respect, an over-restricted imagination, or something else, I have no idea.
