I am Dann's Journal Entry
You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their lives, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute! Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating THAT PERSON? Since when?" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

FIRST NAME: Dann
AGE: 27, although I am constantly forgetting between being surrounded largely by younger people and never really remembering that I'm younger than Beth.
LOCATION: Honolulu, HI
OCCUPATION: community college student, but soon, university student. I suppose that's an improvement.
PARTNER: Beth. She's pretty cool if you're into that kind of thing (women, specifically)
KIDS: 2 of them who are continuing to be balls of boundless energy wrapped in attitude
BROTHERS/SISTERS: 2 real sisters, 1 brother-in-law, 5 stepbrothers. Both real sisters seem to be experiencing reasonable success at whatever it is they're trying to do out there.
PARENTS: Divorced and remarried. Dad retired and then unretired and now works mostly from home. He also bought a house in Delaware, a boat, and an RV. I'm still not sure what to think about that. Mom still owns a campground in PA. Most things are as they were.
PETS: There are animals that live here, but none of them are "mine" in any traditional sense. Two obnoxious dogs and one fish that seems immortal.
CLOSE FRIENDS: All back in Maryland. Or Philly. Still regularly communicating with most. Good thing someone invented this "internet" thing or I'd be shit out of luck.
HOME: the garage of my in-laws' house.
3 THINGS GOING ON IN MY LIFE:
1) I'm about to finish my 2 year degree, except possibly not thanks to the single most heartless human being I've ever met fucking me over on my grade in one class. Either way, I'm already enrolled at UH, so that won't change, but I may not end up with an AA (which doesn't *really* matter), and may have to retake the course (which would suck copious amounts of ass)
2) It's Christmas season, and I'm still not used to the season being warm and tropical. I expect rain, possibly snow, chilling cold and dead trees. I miss that crushing sense of oppression which is only overcome briefly by the good times had hanging out with friends and family. Not coming back over winter break is a bit disappointing (even if my lungs appreciate it), but I'll be out for nearly a month next year, which is very exciting.
3) I'm getting very close to finally deciding on a major, and I think I may actually stick with this one, since it allows me near total freedom in class selection, and is *exactly* the amount of useless I'm looking for in a degree.
