Conversation between Ridley Scott, Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof:
Scott: Okay, so you’re clear on the script?
Spaihts: I think so. You want us to integrate the plot line from Alien vs. Predator and Event Horizon with Weekend at Bernie’s …
Scott: Only, “Bernie” is not really dead this time!
Spaihts: Right, but you want the same element of surprise.
Lindelof: Wont people expect something more, considering the first Alien?
Scott: More?
Lindelof: Better?
Scott: Don’t you pay attention? It’s gonna be tons of CGI and all of it in 3D! No one’s gonna care about the plot. Just do something that has worked before and then throw in a zillion explosions.
Spaihts: Michael Fassbender asked about the dialogue … he fears that he has to carry most of the film as it is.
Scott: Well, he’s German isn’t he! They always brag about their prestigious acting schools.
Lindelof: I think he was raised in Ireland.
Spaihts: Okay, so no particular actor directing, no particular and coherent plot line, tons of explosions and a couple of “deja vues” from the first Alien, though, plotwise they won’t correspond, and an open ending that makes no sense what so ever?
Scott: Exactly!!
