I'd like to talk to you all seriously for a moment about an issue that often is cast aside. You may laugh when you first hear this, but it is something that must be known about; zombie outbreaks.
Though there is little evidence that there ever was such an outbreak or attack, that does not mean it could not happen. If anything we're due. Though zombies can be fun in popular culture, the truth of them is horrific. Imagine a human, reanimated from an unknown virus that controls the brain, without the ability to feel pain, lacking the need for oxygen and food, and an uncontrollable need for human flesh. Cliche as it sounds, this is exactly what a zombie is.
But because of these characteristics, zombies cannot think. They lack the ability to problem solve, recognize obstacles, and work together. Because their brains are a in a near-dead state, they are functioning at their minimum. Something as simple as walking up stairs is beyond them. This is a great advantage to us humans.
I recommend that you go to your local library and see if they have the 'Zombie Survival Guide' by Max Brooks. This book is my bible. I can't tell you how many times I have read it, taken notes, and bookmarked sections of this guide. Everything you need to know about how to survive a Class 1, 2, 3 and 4 outbreaks are in here. Survival tips, weapons, shelter, transportation, aspects of zombies and their history are all here.
But until such attacks happen, enjoy zombies. Watch movies for a laugh or scare, read fun fanfics, but always be ready. Understand what an outbreak should look like, organize an escape plan, train yourself, and survive.
