This posts contain spoilers for the current arc of Bleach.

Readers of Bleach mourn the death of Chōjirō Sasakibe. Once the lieutenant of the First Division, Sasakibe was a character that never got much attention. Nevertheless, he was always seen behind his captain, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, silent but loyal. He was one of the leading officers of the Soul Society.

Sasakibe was killed by a group of unknown invaders. But before he died, Sasakibe had his zanpakutō, Gonryōmaru, drawn and released. He was killed along with 106 other members of the First Division.

Sasakibe was very interested in Western culture, particularly English. He enjoyed experimenting with different teas and exhibited them at the Tea Ceremony Club.

Chōjirō Sasakibe will be never be forgotten. He was left an imprint in the Soul Society that cannot and will never be replaced.
