Misuse of good intentions
A couple of months back, I was involved with a social effort organization that wanted to take computers to semi-rural/rural schools around Bangalore. One of the main concerns in that project was the misuse of computers by either the students or the teachers. The computers weren't a part of any network, but we didn't want to have a situation where the dingy classrooms had turned into weekend movie hall or some such thing. It looks like the OLPC project has run into a more serious problem, with their computers in Abuja being used to surf adult content.
