I am too insane with emotion to write a proper post. My icon sums it up. But I have been thinking. So here is the question: IS SNAPE THE REAL HERO OF IT ALL?! Spoilers within, obv.
So on the night that Voldemort goes to kill Harry he tells his mother that she needn't die. He tells her this why? Because Snape pleaded with him not to murder Lily. But Lily won't step aside and let her son be murdered so she is struck down in an act that saves Harry's life, which leads to Voldemort's curse backfiring, and Harry becoming a horcrux. Had Snape NOT begged Voldemort to save Lily then Lily would NOT have died to SAVE HER SON she would have died because Voldemort WANTED TO KILL HER. So the protection her death placed over him would never have been created.
