Okay so my roommate was tired of doing nothing for two days (I never get tired of doing nothing, I have ALL YOU LOVELY PEOPLE and RM and my DS to keep me company~), so today we decided to adventure into Philadelphia. This involves the train. The train and I have a love-hate relationship (thankfully today was a love day) due to consistent incorrect fare lists. BUT ANYWAY. On the train, my roommate (from Maryland) starts talking about this one train in Baltimore that just runs on the street and I'm like "YEAH I KNOW I SAW THE TRAIN!" (She got to hear all about my misadventures at Otakon yesterday, but she's not into anime so the stories were kind of flat.)
So we get off the train and come out of the underground station. To my left is a Walgreen's/7-eleven, and on my right is this fenced-in area with those concrete barriers that make this shape / \. And as we start walking, there are large buildings and an area covered in scaffolding.
FLASHBACKS.
I WANT MY OTAKON AND ALL MY FRIENDS BACK. NAO.
So we are wandering, wandering, finding random fountains and fifty-two dunkin' donuts or starbucks, and then we see, in large letters across one street:
K I N G T U T.
The exhibit closes on my birthday (lol not telling when that is) so we were like "YOU WANNA GO?" and "YEAH OKAY." So we went. It cost $25 (aaaaaahhhh, there goes my money for the day!) but I think it was worth it. We were looking at all that cool Egyptian stuff and I started musing in my head about how 'historical hands' touched and crafted and put together all these things, and painted them and set them all up in the Egyptian tombs. ...Yeah, I get real strange about history if you give me the time.
Anyway, the exhibit was interesting. A lot of gold stuff, and things in a really intense blue color. I liked the blue a lot, actually. And I think I know a few things more about Egypt now than I did when I started, so all in all a productive trip, hmm?
But man. All the city does is make me miss Baltimore that much more. ...Lol I almost called Griff in the middle of the city to be like "PLEASE COME HERE."
Anyway, I swear on my...uh...hmm... on my grape juice! that I will get another Otapost up next weekend. I owe you guys TONS of pictures, and more adventure stories.
So yeah. Soon I'll be going to dinner and then doing PILES of homework for Wednesday, but right now I'm just going to chill, because my legs, they are le tired.
And that is the story of my adventure!
