We are having a small christmas party soon and I was thinking about a theme. Right now I'm in love with the songs and lyrics by Tuure Kilpeläinen, so it is obvious that we will listen to his old fashioned, yet contemporary songs with poetic (and kind of weird) lyrics.
As I was listening and downloading those songs today and I could not help thinking about a certain navy suit when I listened a song called "The suit of a lonely man". Okay he is not divorced, probably not lonely and the suit does not fit like a glove, but still....
Married ladies
Single ladies
May I have your attention for a moment
I'm here today
In front of you
You can judge my style
You see a man
Dressed in suit
Of latest fashion
In the inside pocket
There's a hole, big enough for love to entry
A cloakroom ticket
And some giddyup
That is suit of a lonely man
A suit of a lonely man
It's handmade
Made of the best quality desperado wool
It fits me
Like a glove
The cut of the suit is amazing
It was hanging
In the attic yesterday
Forgotten
During the happy times
Now the ex-in-laws are rolling their eyes
Hit the man and count to ten
I'm wearing a suit of a lonely man
Clink, clink, clink
I'm cold, cold, cold
If you walk towards me
Give me
A hug, hug, hug
Clink, clink, clink
I'm cold, cold, cold
My heart is freezing
Give me
A hug, hug, hug
The sleeves are too long
For a funeral
And the pantlegs are too short
For a wedding
The dark scent
Is not appropriate for a christening party
And the suit would be torn apart at the family reunion
I drink alone
Because I'm lonely
The fool will be a king tonight
In the inside pocket
There's a hole, big enough for love to entry
A cloakroom ticket
And some fun
That is suit of a lonely man
A suit of a lonely man
Clink, clink, clink
I'm cold, cold, cold
If you walk towards me
Give me
A hug, hug, hug
Clink, clink, clink
I'm cold, cold, cold
My heart is freezing
Give me
A hug, hug, hug...
