"You're too caught up in this obsessive dislike," Lucius sneered. "It is a weakness, and the Dark Lord will prey on it. You must be prepared."
"But why would he prey on us?" Draco asked, his eyes showing all of his twelve-year-old naivety.
Lucius sighed, rubbing his temples. "You do not use only the weaknesses of your enemies to your advantage, Draco."
The boy's eyes lost a bit of their brightness as he considered his father's words.
"You told me something similar before I left for Hogwarts," Draco said, nodding.
"To make you strong," Lucius said. "Make me proud."
