Summary: “Hey, Jinki… do you remember the first time we met?” Kibum almost regretted speaking, his voice puncturing the perfect silence that they had encapsulated themselves in, but his craving to hear the older man’s voice was more demanding.
A/N: Yeah, I’m not quite sure what this is. I started it a while ago and never got around to finishing it and well now it’s finished I’m still not quite sure that it actually is and well, yeah I’m not too happy with it, but honestly I just wanted it out of the way. I’ve been writing so much OnHo that I kind of left my first OTP lonely. Essentially this is just dribble (very long dribble I might add) but if you enjoy it then I will be very happy. As always there will be grammar and spelling mistakes, un-beta’d, so I apologise for that in advance, (^o^). Please do feel free to comment and leave me feedback, it keeps me going (^____^).
The soft grass tickled at Kibum’s exposed skin as he lay staring up at the sunny sky. It was a great day today, big puffy white clouds filling up the sky in the places that were not bright seaside blue. Turning to his side he watched as the man he shared this moment with laid next to him, arms brushing, with his almond shaped eyes closed, denying Kibum the deep brown depths lat lay beneath caramel lids and thick ebony lashes. He watched as the older man breathed in and out, eyes not leaving as the firm chest that was covered by a thin baggy t-shirt (in one of the other man’s attempts at hiding his figure, something Kibum couldn’t comprehend) moved up and down in fluid motions. His eyes flickered up to the man’s face his pupils dilating at the beauty of the other man, his breath caught silently as he watched a bead of perspiration that had built up from the heat of the sun’s glare on his brow as it slowly ran a wet line from the side of his head and melted somewhere in-between the silky honey brown hair that swayed into his face.
“Hey, Jinki… do you remember the first time we met?” Kibum almost regretted speaking, his voice puncturing the perfect silence that they had encapsulated themselves in, but his craving to hear the older man’s voice was more demanding.
He kept his eyes on Jinki as his plump mouth twitched, his eyes blinking open slowly. When Jinki finally adjusted his eyes to the bright light of the day instead of the sparkling blackness that had been behind his eyes only minutes ago, he turned his head to look in Kibum’s direction, a look of confusion on his round face.
“Huh?” Kibum rolled his eyes, ignoring the warmth that spread through his heart at the older man’s sleepy face.
“When we met, do you remember it?” He asked again, trying to act all huffy when really he just wanted to pounce onto the other man and envelope himself deep within his cuteness, but Kibum was stubborn (and in denial) like that.
Blinking Jinki rubbed at his forehead, no doubt irritated by how sweaty he was, he was a sweaty guy but that only endeared Kibum to him more, and even though Kibum wouldn’t admit it he had a bit of a thing for Jinki being all sweaty, seriously he looked good like that.
“Why don’t you remember it?” Rolling his eyes again in more of an attempt at blocking out the adorable expression on the older man’s face, he let a sigh escape his plush lips.
“I remember it, Jinki. I am asking you if you do…”
Jinki chuckled, his smile even warmer than the sunshine in Kibum’s eyes. He loved watching Jinki smile, all pearly white teeth, dimples and crinkly eyes.
“Of course I remember it. It was kinda hard to forget.” The older man licked his lips after answering as he chuckled again. “It was an experience that I don’t think I’ll ever quite be able to extinguish from my mind.” Kibum pouted, pushing his body up to lie on his stomach and brought his elbows up as a seat for his pointy chin.
“Well don’t say it like it was a bad thing…” The younger man of the two blinked his eyes and continued to pout at the older man. Only gaining a smirk from Jinki as he sat up using his elbows for support like Kibum had moments ago.
“I didn’t say it was a bad thing… But it was certainly…” Jinki paused in his sentence searching for an appropriate word, “…unforgettable.” Kibum frowned, his mind flittering back through all his memories and pinning that particular one down. He didn’t see what was so strange about it that Jinki was all smirks and acting like it had scarred him or something. He was jolted out of his thoughts as Jinki laughed.
“I think you’re the one that doesn’t remember Kibum.”
Kibum furrowed his eyebrows. It hadn’t been that bad right?
Jinki continued to laugh as he revisited the memory in his mind, honestly he was just winding up Kibum, but it had been a particularly Earth shattering experience meeting Kibum. Not in the cheesy romance novel kind of way, but in the Jinki; I am a nerd and no one takes notice of me and now I have this slinky guy with one side of his head shaved all up in my space and I have no idea what to do - kind of way.
Flashback - around 2 years ago;
He didn’t usually do this, he wasn’t the type of guy to hang around in clubs but his best friend Jonghyun, who Jinki was surprised even spoke to him let alone held the position of his closest (only) friend, had insisted that Jinki get out and “experience the real world…” (Jonghyun’s exact words) and to be honest Jinki would have much rather sat at home in his apartment finishing that paper that had to be in (in two weeks) than sitting on a stool on his own watching people enjoy themselves. Something that he already did on a regular basis, minus the blaring ‘thump-y’ Hip-Hop music and erratic strobe lights that were seriously giving him heart palpitations.
If this was the real world, then Jinki was glad he wasn’t part of it.
Looking away and back down to his untouched glass, which he really wasn’t even considering drinking because whatever was in that glass looked like it should come with hazard tape around it. What sort of drink was that shade of brown?
After around half an hour of his sitting like that, he seriously thought about demoting Jonghyun from his best friend position. The two-toned blonde having run off with some girl that looked like she had been wearing what should have been her little Sister’s shirt and decided to make it a dress, about ten minutes into them arriving, leaving Jinki alone with that glass of mud that smelled like bleach… or something like that anyway. He couldn’t believe that he had agreed to this and he felt pretty stupid to think that Jonghyun would have actually stayed with him. He had hoped that the younger boy would have cared enough to know that Jinki was incredibly inexperienced in these kind of situations. He was already picturing Mafia gangs, drugs and guns. He needed to get out of there… but he didn’t even know where ‘there’ was.
Jinki opted for staying put, the illusion that Jonghyun would come back and fetch him (what was he three years old!?) keeping him calm, well relatively calm. He poked at the glass of the murky drink that was getting more and more unappealing by the second, his fingers running around the rim as the liquid sloshed about inside the thick short-ish glass when he suddenly felt eyes on him. It freaked him out and he didn’t even dare and look but his curiosity was forceful and he couldn’t stop his head turning over his shoulder, his eyes flickering around the vast dance floor opposite from the bar.
He couldn’t see anyone looking back at him, but then he was probably stupid for even thinking that the stylish people in there would even give him one look. But then he was drawn to a particular corner of the room where there was a large crowd of people and he wondered if it was Jonghyun trying to get his attention, so he squinted (he still hadn’t gotten used to those annoying contacts that Jonghyun had practically forced him to wear) through the foggy heat of the place, his eyes instantly widening as he found the culprit of the staring and it was certainly not Jonghyun. No, the feline eyes made to look even more dangerous with the lining of black that gave them a sharper edge, definitely did not belong to Jonghyun and Jinki couldn’t look away. It was only when the guy smirked at him that he blinked and quickly turned his head back which resulted in him sticking half of his hand into his glass. Hissing he pulled his hand out frowning at the smell of the high spirit liquid and reached for the napkins at the side of the bar in a hurry, knocking over a jug which ended up slipping off the side of the bar and hitting a bucket of ice that spilled over the floor behind the bar. Jinki’s eyes went wide as he watched the chaos take place, his vision seeming to have slowed down as he held his breath his hand hanging in the air twitching as it dripped with the alcoholic drink. He spluttered and bowed to the bartender who just stared at Jinki like he was an idiot, and he probably was, so Jinki didn’t hold that against the young-looking guy as he frowned and sighed in a way that told Jinki he needed to just back off. So he did, apologising as he sunk back down into his stool, his face probably a million shades of red as he let his head fall down onto the counter. The bartender cleared up pretty quickly and Jinki was impressed at how calm he stayed as he watched from over his crossed arms, he felt really bad but his heart wouldn’t stop pumping erratically and he couldn’t get the image of those eyes out of his head.
He noticed the bartender give him a wary look as he put the jug back and went to the other side of the counter to serve some new customers. Sighing Jinki berated himself for being such a loser, not even realising that someone had pulled the stool next to him out and was beginning to sit down. So when thin long fingers wrapped around the bicep of his arm he nearly jumped out of his stool and created another embarrassing disaster. He looked up hoping to see Jonghyun’s smug face, but instead it was the smug face of ‘cat-eyes’ guy and he really did jump then, which made ‘cat-eyes’ laugh heartily.
“Hello~” He said in a sing-song kind of voice and Jinki couldn’t stop looking at the fuzzy side of the guy’s head that had been shaved away and dyed blonde with random pink running through.
Why would anyone want to shave the side of their head off? But then who was Jinki to talk? He just wasn’t down with the kids today.
Blinking slowly and feeling a little on edge at the fact that the guy hadn’t removed his hand from his arm Jinki replied with a nod, which made him feel rather pathetic, especially when the other guy just laughed at him again.
“I’m Key.”
Key?
What sort of a name was Key… a nickname perhaps?
Jinki just continued to stare not really knowing what to do, the ‘cat-eyes’ guy with one side of his head shaved, who Jinki now knew was called Key had just introduced himself so easily and Jinki felt awkward. Was he supposed to say, “Hey and I’m Jinki…” he thought so but then shouldn’t Key have said “what’s your name?”… Or something like that anyway.
This is why Jinki only had one friend… and he’d even abandoned him.
Jinki watched as Key’s face frowned and he panicked, thinking he had upset him by not answering. Jinki didn’t want people to think he was rude, because he really wasn’t, he was just socially awkward - there was a difference.
“Do you have a name…?” Jinki flinched at the other boy’s words, his mind reeling because he hadn’t even been listening to anything he had just said, but he had been staring at the other boy’s features so much that it was becoming impossible to even link his ears to his brain.
So Jinki did what he always did in times of panic… made a fool out of himself (although to be fair he did that most of the time anyway).
“I like chicken!”
Silence…
What?
Why the hell did you just say that!?
He wanted to gouge his own eyes out at the bemused expression that flashed across the boy’s pretty features at his ridiculous random sentence. But then he was smiling again, all straight teeth and pouty lips and then Jinki was the one that was confused.
“You’re funny... I like you.” Key said casually as he leaned closer to the bar, bringing a hand up to nestle under his defined face so his chin could rest there. He stared at Jinki with such intensity that he felt flushed and he probably was, especially from the compliment he had just received, well he was taking it as compliment anyway.
“So you like chicken huh?” Jinki nodded dumbly while he waved goodbye to any of his manhood that he might have had remaining. But Key just continued to smile and Jinki was a little thrown off, because people just did not speak to him this long, especially not attractive people, so he was completely inexperienced in how to maintain a remotely interesting and relevant conversation and he was doing an expert job at proving that. What made it worse was that Key had instigated the conversation in the first place and Jinki couldn’t work out why the hell that was.
“So you got a name Chicken-Boy?” Any other time and there might have been a part of Jinki that resented that nickname (well actually probably not…), but right now he couldn’t think straight to oppose it, especially not when it was coming from the plush lips of the other boy who looked like he had just come straight from a catwalk.
“Jinki… my name’s Jinki.” The words were rushed but it seemed like Key understood them, a smile gracing his face as he nodded in acknowledgement.
“I like it, it suits you.”
“Eh, thanks?” He didn’t know why he said it in a questioning tone, but it was too late to change it so he just smiled at Key, who looked shocked for a brief moment, his eyes flashing with something Jinki couldn’t recognise, and then it was gone just as quick as it appeared, the self-assured character of the other boy coming back.
“Can I get you a proper drink?” Key offered and Jinki nodded, just because he didn’t know what else to do. In the back of his mind, he wondered if the other boy was even old enough to be in this club and purchasing drinks for older guys, he also was praying that the drink that he would receive from the other was nowhere near anything like the one Jonghyun ordered, which he was adamant was cursed.
“Here, try this.” Jinki looked at the drink warily and the other boy laughed. “I promise it’s good. You’ll like it; if you don’t then I’ll have to find a way to make it up to you.” Jinki went pale and red all in one go at the other’s words. He might have been slightly recluse and socially incapable but he knew when someone was flirting with someone. And that, he was sure had been Key flirting with him. There was the suspicion that this could all be a huge joke and the other boy had drugged his drink in order to play some horrible trick on him, but when he looked into the feline-eyes of the boy he felt at ease and like he was sincere.
Taking the drink into his thick hands he smelt it, ignoring the roll of eyes he could see coming from the other boy, before letting his lips touch the glass and letting the colourful liquid seep into his mouth.
To Jinki’s surprise, the drink wasn’t too bad, in fact it was actually really nice, his mind let off warning signals at the high alcoholic flavour but he ignored them taking another lager sip.
“See, its good right?” Key asked his pretty mouth slick with what looked like tinted pink lip-gloss and Jinki had the sudden urge to lean across and lick at the plush pouty lips and that freaked him out.
“Yeah. Surprisingly so…”
“Let me tell you something, Jinki. You should never doubt me.” Key said casually, although Jinki detected a little bit of spice to that comment which was only confirmed by the other’s slim hands resting on top of Jinki’s leg, the long digits of his fingers rubbing gently at the denim material that covered Jinki’s legs, sending bolts of electric heat through the tight material all the way up to pool deep within his gut.
Four more drinks later and Jinki was useless to the world. So useless that he didn’t even realise that he had taken a taxi two blocks away from his apartment and was laid out over a plush, cool black leather couch, a leather couch that certainly did not belong to him.
There was a musky aroma of what Jinki recognised as freshly made black coffee. The smell got closer and closer until he felt the steam brushing against his rosy cheeks.
“Man, he’s so out.” He heard the voice, the sultry voice that he recognised.
“W-Where am I?” Jinki asked whilst his eyes squinted, trying to adjust to the harsh light that filled the unfamiliar room, that as soon as his eyes were fully open he knew for sure was not his apartment. The stylish furnishings nothing like what filled his small apartment up.
“You’re at my place. I hope you don’t mind, but it wasn’t safe to let you go home on your own.” Taking in the other male’s voice he coughed, man he felt kind of terrible. What the hell had happened, all he remembered was feline eyes lined in black and lip gloss smirks.
“Here, drink this.” Jinki cracked one eye open to let the surroundings sink in again. He shook his head like a child, seriously doubting that he would be able to keep anything down. “Come on, it will help.” Jinki took the mug reluctantly persuaded by the softness of the other male’s voice. Putting the mug to his lips he let the steam hit his face and the smells startle his senses, one sip and he already felt slightly better. By the fifth sip he felt wide awake, his nerve ends tingling with caffeine and sugar.
He heard his companion laugh and suddenly something inside him stirred.
Key…
He was still with Key, that guy he had met at the club, had he really been drugged. Was he going to be attacked or something, the caffeine rush going straight to his head, no clear thoughts being filtered through his hazy mind sending him into a frenzy.
“Errr… why am I here… with you?” Jinki asked as he told himself to calm down.
“Well, you know how to make a girl feel special.”
“YOU’RE A GIRL?” Jinki’s eyes widened as his head shot up to look at the other, regretting the movement instantly he fell back into the couch clutching at his head.
“What? No I didn’t mean… anyway~ like I said I escorted you home, to make sure you were safe.”
Jinki opened his eyes again, taking in the other boy’s figure as he placed a hand on his hip and nibbled on his bottom lip.
“You don’t drink much do you?” Key asked as he took a seat next to Jinki on his lush leather couch. Jinki nodded mutely as he rubbed at his forehead.
“Why don’t you take a shower and you can stay here for the night.” Key suggested as his hand landed on Jinki’s stiff shoulder blades, causing Jinki to look up at him, his eyes slightly watery.
“Would that be okay?” He asked uncertainty laced within his voice. Key just smiled, his eyes rolling affectionately.
“I wouldn’t have offered if it wasn’t. Go on, the bathrooms through the hall on your first left.”
Jinki thanked Key as he walked slowly to the direction the other boy had pointed to, opening the first door on his left and sighing in relief as a modern bathroom faced him. Locking the door just in case, he rid himself of his dirty clothes his exposed flesh tingling at the fresh chilly air. Checking the temperature of the water he stepped into the designer shower, hissing as the warm water smoothed his aching body. It felt amazing what with the way the water cascaded down his flesh almost as if it was wiping away all of the grogginess and musky air of the club. He decided to wash his hair as well, the strands feeling sticky from the heat exposure.
About half an hour later he emerged from the bathroom sheepishly, a towel wrapped around his hips and a small blue towel draped over his damp shoulders.
“Key…?” He called out from the small hallway, not really wanting to progress further. He heard shuffling and gentle footsteps before the addressed boy called back to him.
“Yeah. You okay?”
Jinki coughed nervously, not knowing how to express himself, he shifted from one foot to another.
“I haven’t got any clothes…” His voice sounded tiny in the expanse of the hallway and Key’s laugh made him feel even smaller.
“You can borrow some of mine… though I doubt they’ll fit you. You’re a lot bigger than me.”
Jinki tried not to take offence at the other’s words but his childhood insecurities made it hard not to. He had been a chubby kid and had battled with weight issues throughout his whole teenage life, so yeah weight was an issue to him.
“Follow me…”
Jinki followed Key to another room that was painted a deep lilac, a soothing colour Jinki thought. There was a big bed in the centre and big white-washed wooden cupboards filled the right side up. Key definitely had style; Jinki had to give him that.
“By the way I didn’t mean you were fat… I meant your body is broader, you know…” Key paused in the middle of his sentence as he turned around, his eyes landing on Jinki’s well formed body. The feline orbs roaming the expanse of caramel flesh that was on offer to him, Jinki sifted uncomfortably, his cheeks tinting red as the sharp eyes dipped lower until Key’s face was flushing red as well. Coughing he turned away “…manlier.” He finished and Jinki was surprised at how high the other boy’s voice had gone, the tone strained as his whole body tensed up.
The air within the room got almost suffocating as Jinki tried to cover up as much of his body as possible, the remnants of the other’s gaze burning through his veins.
“Here this should be okay; I’ll leave you to it then.” Jinki watched as Key practically ran out of the room, his own bedroom. Jinki couldn’t help but to be a little mystified at the other boy’s behaviour, what had happened to the mischievous and confident character in the club?
Pushing his thoughts to the back of his mind, he reached down to where Key had left the clothes for him. He felt much better after his body wasn’t on show, although the clothes were a little tight and long for him, he didn’t really mind it the feeling of soft clean material against his skin making him feel normal again.
He left Key’s bedroom feeling refreshed and nowhere as near groggy as he had earlier, his stomach rumbled as he made his way towards the living room area of Key’s apartment. Patting his stomach as he walked towards where he thought Key was, a delicious scent suddenly filled his nose and his stomach gurgled more.
Food.
He need food and by the smell coming from what he guessed was the kitchen, Key was making it. His body moved on its own then, his stomach leading the way, a smile reaching his face as he walked towards where Key was stirring something in a frying pan.
“Smells good. Thanks for the clothes.”
Key turned around from the sound of his voice, a gentle smile gracing his face. Jinki noticed that he had rid himself of the make-up he had worn at the club and his clothes looked a lot more casual; the other boy now wearing a white over sized shirt hanging down from his shoulders past his hips and cut off pyjama pants adorned the smooth flesh and long expanse of his legs. He looked comfortable and… sweet almost, and Jinki was disturbed at the sudden image of a couple, getting up to be greeted by a loving Girlfriend who made you delicious food.
“You haven’t tasted it yet…” Key joked as he moved around the kitchen area retrieving things Jinki didn’t recognise from cupboards to add to the food. “And no problem, are you comfortable?” Key turned to face him again as he waited for Jinki’s answer.
“Oh, yeah… they’re a little tight and Erm a little long but otherwise fine.” He chuckled and Key joined him nodding as Jinki lifted up his leg to show how the pants pooled around his feet slightly.
“Cute.” Key said before he turned to attend to the stove, hitting a few buttons before nodding his head and deeming the food ready. Jinki couldn’t wait to eat, he watched the other boy as his stomach growled in anticipation.
Key placed the plates and bowls on the dining area connected to the kitchen and Jinki felt a little bad for not offering to help but the other male looked as if he preferred not to be disturbed. Jinki let his mind wonder as he waited for Key to finish his preparations.
He felt a little uneasy in this situation because, well technically Key was a stranger to him and he was letting him stay in his apartment without any qualms and Jinki couldn’t help but wonder if he could be trusted and how dangerous a situation this could be for both of them. Key could be in just as much danger as Jinki. Jinki knew he wasn’t a psychopath but Key didn’t. He wasn’t sure how to react. All those years spent living alone made him feel a little uncomfortable around others, apart from Jonghyun and Family members he didn’t really speak to many other people.
He was broken form his thoughts by the stool opposite him connecting with the floor as Key sat down. Looking across the breakfast bar Jinki smiled bashfully.
“Eat up, don’t worry. You should probably get some sleep after this though, it is 2AM and you don’t strike me as the kinda guy that is usually up at this time.” A grin stretched Key’s lips as he tilted his head to the side slightly, “unless your finishing off physics or maths homework or something,” he laughed at his own joke and Jinki couldn’t help but wonder whether the guy had split personality disorder, because the boy that sat in front of him now was nothing like the mischievous flirty guy that was present at the club. No this version of Key was sweet, doting and almost Mother-like. Jinki was confused and intrigued all at the same time and couldn’t help but to want to know more and get to know Key better either.
Jinki smiled and nodded, “that is true.” He confirmed as he looked down at the food in front of him, his mouth practically watering as he picked up his chopsticks to dig in. He sighed as soon as the food filled his mouth, his taste buds tingling at the pleasing taste.
“Wow, this is really good!” He praised, looking up at Key with a massive grin across his face. Key smiled happily as he ate silently, and Jinki noticed a slight blush filling the other’s high cheek bones and felt more than just a bit satisfied with himself.
“Thank you. I am glad you like it.”
They ate in silence after that, it was a comfortable silence. Not the silence that accompanied Jinki at his own apartment - that was a solitary thudding silence. This silence was a gentle, calming one that was filled up with two breaths intertwined together; making Jinki feel warmth that he knew wasn’t only from the warm meal that now sat in his stomach but from the other boy’s presence.
Key was the first to break the silence as he stood from his seat and placed the dirty dishes in what Jinki had thought was another cupboard but was clearly a dishwasher. Cool. He thought. He really need to upgrade him own apartment. It kind of sucked compared to Key’s.
“You can have my bed.”
“What?” Jinki said, the other’s comment taking him by surprise.
“You can have my bed and I’ll sleep on the couch or something.” Jinki’s eyes widened. There was no way he was going to let Key do that - that just wasn’t right. He couldn’t let Key sleep on his own couch when Jinki was the guest, no matter how comfy said couch was.
Shaking his head Jinki put his hands up in front of him, “no way. No way am I making you sleep on your couch. I’ll sleep on the couch.” Key looked like he was going to argue so Jinki spoke again before the other boy could say anything. “Please. I don’t want inconvenience you even more. You’ve been so generous already.”
Key let his shoulders slump, sighing in defeat as he placed a cold hand on Jinki’s shoulder.
“Fine… and your no inconvenience.”
Jinki smiled, as Key walked off the promise of lots of warm blankets still hanging in the air as Jinki reached up and rubbed the spot on his shoulder that Key had touched, the area now spreading with warmth despite how cold the other’s hands had been.
Jinki couldn’t sleep his mind seemed to be working at a hundred miles an hour. He couldn’t get comfortable either and it had nothing to do with the perfectly comfortable couch he was currently laying on but more to do with who the couch belonged to. Thoughts of Key were swarming his head and leaving him restless. He wanted to get to know the enigmatic male; he wanted to become friends (and maybe more). He wanted to make a connection with the other; he just wasn’t sure how he should go about it. But that did not mean he wasn’t going to give it a go.
When morning came Jinki felt beyond groggy, but he had ended up having a better night’s sleep than he had first thought he would. Stretching out his aching limbs he looked around, a yawn escaped his mouth and he shivered at the early day chill. The smell of fresh coffee knocked into his sleep glazed senses once again and he sighed knowing he would probably need a cup of the hot brown liquid that was being brewed. He didn’t even want to chance a look at his own reflection already having decided that he must look like well… crap. Yep, he was definitely making a point to tell Jonghyun that he was never, EVER, going to drink again. Oh and he was never going into one of those hell holes, that they call clubs again either. That scene was just not for him, the way he was feeling now confirming that.
He managed to get his legs over the side of the couch and push himself up into a standing position without throwing up, so he was doing pretty well he guessed. He breathed on his left open palm, cringing away at the smell of coffee, food and the distant but still potent stench of alcohol. He seriously needed to brush his teeth or something. Strolling into the kitchen where he presumed Key was making coffee he let a yawn seep from his lips again.
“Morning,” turning around Jinki smiled awkwardly. “Morning…” he replied reaching a hand up to scratch at the back of his neck.
“Have a good sleep?” Key asked with a warming smile as he stepped around Jinki to go back top preparing the morning coffee he left brewing before going to wash up his appearance in the bathroom.
“Yes thank you. Feel a bit awful though.” Key chuckled at Jinki’s words, placing his hands on his bony hips a smirk working its way onto his pink lips.
“Welcome to the world of hangovers…” Jinki groaned as Key poured the hot coffee into two large mugs, “I guess you won’t be drinking again for a while then.” He said as he placed the mugs down on the breakfast bar they had eaten on last night/morning, a mumbled yes coming from Jinki’s mouth as he rolled his cheek across the cold marble of the table top, earning a chuckle from Kibum who sat opposite to him.
Then a sudden thought struck him, looking up he grabbed at the mug taking a large sip before asking, “What’s your real name?”
Kibum furrowed his neat brows, leaning forward a bit. “Why do you ask?” Jinki looks at Key’s face, checking for any signs of his words having offended the other before shrugging lightly.
“I just figured that Key must be a nickname.” Key raised an eyebrow at Jinki before shifting in his seat, bringing his mug of coffee up to his lips he gazed at Jinki from across the table.
“And what if it isn’t…?” He smirked at Jinki as he moved the mug from his face, leaving Jinki blinking awkwardly.
“Ahhh, well I am not saying it’s not a worthy or cool name or anything. It’s just because, you know, it doesn’t sound very Korean, but that’s totally fine as well, I mean you don’t need to-”
“Kibum.”
Pausing from his rambling, Jinki blinked dumbly.
“Er, what?” He said rather intelligently, emitting a laugh from Key, something Jinki noticed he was quite good at.
“My birth name is Kibum.” The taller boy repeated, shooting Jinki a bright and amused smile that seemed to hit him right in his chest.
“Kibum. I like it. It suits you.” He said, just like Key, no, Kibum had said to him in the club about his own name. Kibum smirked catching on to that fact and Jinki couldn’t help the smile that spread out onto his face either.
“Your eyes are really cute when you smile,” the other suddenly blurts out, a look of utter embarrassment washing over his features as the realisation that he had just totally said what he was thinking in his head out loud dawns on him. Jinki just laughs awkwardly, reaching a hand up to scratch his nape nervously, knowing that a blush has definitely shown up spreading on his face like wild-fire. He feels better though, when he chances a glance in Kibum’s direction and the other’s high cheekbones are framed in pink. Kibum coughs anxiously taking a big gulp of his coffee.
“Thank you,” Jinki says not sure on how he should respond, “I think that you h-have a, a pretty smile, by the way.” Kibum pauses in drinking his coffee to stare at Jinki and they both feel their heart beats thud against their chests. This moment was so -
Ruined…
The unwelcome and violently loud sound of Jinki’s mobile startling them both as they jumped in their seats at the tone.
“H-hello,” Jinki stuttered into the device, his hands shaking as he tried to keep the phone in his grasp. His eyes narrowed at the sound of Jonghyun’s voice. Yep, that short Dino was so being demoted from his best friend position.
“JINKI, O-M-G. Thank God… ” Jinki frowned as he heard shuffling and Jonghyun’s muffled calls of ‘he’s alive, it’s okay’ and ‘all death threats can stop now.’ He couldn’t stop the chuckle that bumbled in his throat at the sound of Taemin and Minho, (who were Jonghyun’s friends) in the background as Taemin sounded as if he was hitting Jonghyun and the deep baritone of Minho’s voice said ‘I can still kick your ass for being so freaking stupid though.’
“Jonghyun?” Jinki finally said, feeling a little anxious at Kibum’s curious gaze from across the table top.
“Jinki, my man. Where the hell are you?” He really wished Jonghyun would quit the whole ‘street talk’ thing; seriously it just was not cool coming from his mouth.
He didn’t really know how to respond to that, not wanting to say anything about Kibum, like in front of Kibum. That would make the whole situation a lot more awkward than it already was. He let his eyes flicker up towards Kibum who was just resting his elbows atop the breakfast bar mug in hand and covering half his face as his striking eyes stayed fixed on Jinki.
Gulping down, he mouthed ‘I’m sorry, it’s my friend’ at the other boy, Kibum moving the mug further down his face so he could mouth ‘it’s fine’ back at Jinki, a gentle smile on his face before he brought the mug back to its previous place.
“Look, I’m fine. I’ll be back at my apartment soon. I’ll call you then,” Ignoring Jonghyun’s attempts at trying to find out where he was he said “See you later Jonghyun.” Before pressing the end call button on his mobile and putting it away again.
He noticed Kibum looked rather amused by the whole thing.
“I suspect your friends are worried about you.” The tall boy said with an amused smirk playing on his lips. Jinki smiled embarrassedly in response before nodding, “Yeah, but then he was the one that ditched me last night… but I’m not that mad anymore because then I wouldn’t-” trailing off he went silent flushing about what he was just about to say.
Kibum quirked up a finely shaped eyebrow and Jinki admired the smooth arch-line it made above the other boy’s pretty eyes before noticing the smirk on the other’s lips, except this smirk was a little bit more deadly and flirtatious?
“Because?” He pushed leaning in across the table and Jinki felt his heartbeat flutter hard in his chest, adrenaline pumping. He looked away his words coming out jumbled as he tried hopelessly to escape having to reiterate his last words that had died on in tongue.
“Hmmmm?” The other urged leaning in closer and closer.
“Then… I-I… I wouldn’t have met someone.” He said lamely, his heart still hammering away in his chest, only made worse because from the corner of his eye he could see the other boy smiling.
“Really… someone you like?”
Jinki blushed; because now it was almost worse that Kibum was going along with it.
“Errrr… I guess. I guess you could say that.” He stuttered. “My, my, my… how interesting. What’s this someone like?”
Please, stop. It’s too embarrassing. He pleaded in his head.
“Well, they are like, you know, nice.”
Kibum leaned his head on his open palm, eyes boring straight into Jinki’s, making the older boy regret finally looking up.
“Just nice?” He stated as his eyes never left Jinki’s flushed form.
“Pretty.” He blurted before he could even stop himself, but it was kind of worth it for the pink heat that spread across Kibum’s high cheekbones.
“What else?” He urged, excited to hear Jinki’s next words.
“Errr, they have a nice body-” shit, he really needed to work on thinking before speaking, his face heating up as Kibum covered his mouth and realised a giggle that sounded so shy and sexy at the same time. “No, I mean yes… err. What I mean is you know that they look good. I don’t mean in an objectifying or superficial way. Because they have nice teeth as well and pouty lips and a cool hairstyle that at first I thought was weird and a little scary but now I really like it and see that it totally suits their personality and they kind of remind me of a model, what with the long legs and bone structure. They definitely have the figure for it, I mean that’s what I really meant when I said about you know, you having a nice body-”
Fuck. I said it. Games up, what the hell just came out of my mouth? I am an idiot. How the hell did I come second from top in my class? I am not even worthy of that title. Can I even read, like was I mistaken when I saw the A+ on all my papers?
He was interrupted from both his thoughts that were playing over his mass of embarrassing confessions and the words spewing from his mouth by Kibum’s howling laughter that filled up the whole kitchen, he watched as the other grabbed onto his stomach and gasped for air, flushed cheeks and tears form laughter sliding down his face and he swore his own face must have been the colour of a tomato, damn it, his whole body felt like it was as red as a lobster.
When Kibum pulled himself self together, he looked at Jinki shyly for the first time, all his previous confidence and sensual bravado washed away as his long lashes fluttered up.
“You have a nice body too.” He stated with pink tinted cheeks and Jinki thought about falling backwards off his seat but he didn’t, for once. Instead he just watched as the other boy got up from his seat and walked towards him with swaying hips. He stopped in front of him and smiled, a familiar glint in his eyes as he bent forward a bit and then Jinki felt his lips on his cheek and if they felt hot before they must have been on fire for real then, because he felt like his whole body was going to combust into little specks of burnt out dust.
“I say that your friends can wait a little longer, hmm?”
‘HELL YES!’ was what came to Jinki’s mind first, especially if he was thinking Kibum meant what he thought he meant, but he put into practice the whole ‘think before you speak’ theory and instead opted for a noise in the back of his throat that sounded embarrassingly close to a squeak and let Kibum pull him from the stool he sat on.
Then the reality of the fact that he kind of hadn’t ever done anything remotely like that with another male… or like anyone, hit him and he panicked. He had only ever had one Girlfriend and they had sort of broken up before they could even get past the whole making-out stage.
And as Kibum threw him on the bed he just prayed that he wouldn’t embarrass himself terribly, but then he was Lee Jinki and not embarrassing himself was kind of a chore for him.
But he never gave up on hope, which was probably why he failed so much.

“Yah!”
He jumped as he felt thin fingers poke him in the stomach, their boniness hurting like hell and jolting him from his minds musings.
“Lee Jinki, are you even listening to me?”
Staring up at Kibum’s face as the younger boy hovered over him and he realised he was lying down, arms behind his head working as a makeshift pillow.
“Maybe,” he offered whilst swatting at Kibum’s hands. “Stop. Your bony fingers hurt.” He said with a smirk on his face because he knew how much Kibum hated it when he said that.
“They are not bony!” The younger boy exclaimed with a scandalised expression playing out on his face as he hugged his hands to his chest, as though they were his precious child or something which made Jinki laugh more. “Their slim.” He corrected Jinki as he pouted. Jinki chuckled and Kibum pouted more before slapping the older boy across his already abused stomach.
“You’re so violent.” He teased and Kibum smirked, leaning down and whispering smugly “Yeah but you like it when I get rough.”
And Jinki blushed because damn it, Kibum always got the last laugh or last word to be precise.
“Got you.” The younger boy said happily while long fingers made a ticklish trail down Jinki’s stomach, running over the clothed skin with a gentle touch almost as if he was silently saying sorry for attacking the flesh only moments ago.
Jinki stayed silent just allowing Kibum’s hands to push onto the surface of his covered skin, the younger boy leaning down to brush his plush and always soft lips against his cheek and he sighed as he felt the slickness of the other’s glossed lips spread against his heated cheek.
The sun was still blaring brightly and his skin tingled even more with the added pressure of Kibum above him.
Long fingers moved from his stomach and gently grabbed at his cheek pulling his face in Kibum’s direction, so they were nose to nose. He stayed put only moving his head away as their lips were mere centimetres apart and he revelled in the little whine that Kibum made at his actions, his touch rougher as he pulled his face to face his again. Jinki waited longer that time and turned his head just in time for Kibum’s lips to collide with his cheek and a growl of displeasure left the younger boy’s lips that time.
“Stop resisting me…” the other pleaded and Jinki giggled childishly before saying “you’re getting lip-gloss all over me.” Resulting in Kibum whining more as he buried his face in Jinki’s neck and breathed heavily on the skin, making the already dampened skin clammier before biting down, hard and Jinki didn’t even flinch much to Kibum’s displeasure and he lapped at the patch of skin that he knew must have already started to bruise, Jinki smirking the whole time, although unbeknownst to Kibum.
Carefully removing his arms from behind his head he quickly grabbed onto Kibum’s waist and rolled them over in record speed and he grinned down at Kibum who looked up at him in shock.
“Got you.” He stated with a teasing grin that made Kibum’s heart feel as though it was attempting to jump from his chest cavity and he gasped, his eyes flickering over to the trickle of perspiration that was sliding down from Jinki’s temple all the way over his cheek and down to the older boy’s Adam’s apple that poked out creating a delicious bump in the other boy’s throat and he gulped his own Adam’s apple bobbing as he resisted from reaching up and running his hands over the other’s neck because he really, really loved Jinki’s neck.
He didn’t have time to keep resisting his urges though because suddenly Jinki was leaning down and they were nose to nose again, except this time the older boy was on top and he felt his stomach flutter in excitement, watching in fascination as Jinki’s pink and thick tongue poked out through his lips and ran against his plump bottom lip, causing Kibum to bite down on his own lower lip.
He sighed when finally the older boy’s lips were on his, his hands instantly wrapping around Jinki’s neck and tangling in his soft strands.
He would never admit it to anyone else but Jinki was the only one that he would ever let his guard down like this around, that he would ever allow the satisfaction of winning because he was just simply helpless under the older boy’s small but thick hands. Plus he kind of liked losing more than he let on especially when his competition was the older boy, but then that was probably because he wasn’t actually losing.
“You were never like this when we met…” Kibum voiced when they pulled away due to lack of oxygen. “What can I say? You changed me.” Jinki responded as he looked down at Kibum with so much affection swimming in his eyes that the teasing sort of became insignificant.
“Blame it on me why don’t you.” He replied with a smirk that was far too revealing of his sheer happiness that it didn’t come off half as snarky as he wanted it to.
“But you are responsible; I mean you were the one that came onto me. I was completely helpless under your black lined eyes and pink lip-gloss lips, plus if I remember rightly you were also the one that dragged me into your bedroom and practically molested me after knowing me for a whole day.”
Kibum scoffed, before pulling Jinki down again and flipping them over so he was on top again, Jinki smiling up at him as though he had been expecting the switch.
“Your memory is always off and are you calling me easy?”
“Like I said, you’re the one that has selective memory, Kibum.” Jinki chuckled, deliberately not answering the other boy’s question.
“Whatever,” Kibum finally said after almost a minute of silence and staring at each other, yeah Kibum always had to have the last word. “You’re a better man because of me.”
Jinki just laughed because he couldn’t really argue with that, not when it was true.
