[A small tapping of fingers on a hard surface, and she's silent in her thoughts before speaking. Her voice bleeds a sickeningly sweet cheerfulness.]

...Oh, always something to add to the surprises, I do suppose. How pretty, may you all enjoy yourselves for the time being, then ( Read more... )

Surely you should know by now, demon, that I remain loyal to this country despite the misfortunes that continue to befall it.

As for the identity of my rescuer... Well now, that is an interesting thought, isn't it? Fortunately, I hardly consider myself foolish enough to believe you intend to let me go quite so easily.

Many more misfortunes and there will be little of a country left to rule, hm?

Ah, but, it would hardly be a rescue if I turned you over to two of the four knights, correct? They would be just as difficult on your health as I. Perhaps even moreso.

[a small laugh.] Perhaps.

[there is a sharp inhale followed by a brief pause before his voice comes through again, sounding more than a little unimpressed by her words]

And yet it was this country you so easily threaten that sealed you to begin with, was it not? How easily you seem to forget.

[another pause in which he appears to collect himself, judging by the tone of his voice when he speaks again]

... Ah, yes. That would be rather problematic for me, wouldn't it? Perhaps I should consider myself fortunate that you are my captor and not they? Nevertheless, I am pleased to hear that it is still two and only two who have deserted me.

[a small, calculate pause.]

Oh, don't worry. I'll be sure to make it at least three, little Prince.

You doubt their loyalty?

[he actually laughs quietly at her claim]

Well I, for one, have far more faith in my dear knights to believe you even have a chance of succeeding.

Oh, no, no, not at all.

[a light sigh, almost sorry.]

I'll kill one of them, though. If not both. It's almost the same as having them go traitor, isn't it? Quite useless to you, then. And, mmm... it always hurts.

[there's a smile playing there.]

No?

No.

[speaks the single word rather firmly before continuing]

There are, of course, far worse fates than mere confinement for one such as yourself after all. Should any harm come to them...

[there is an ever so defined pause before she does finally respond. Her tone is amused when she does speak, although her words do hold a bit of bite to them in response to his comment.]

Seems I have hit a nerve, dear Prince.

Such a pity the only way you'd be able to consider such courses of action would be if you were able to get out of your own confinement.

For now, you are simply welcome to stay still and watch. And hope that nothing terrible befalls either of your two precious knights.

Because, really, it's all you are able to do.

[cuts transmission.]
