Celebratory Tribute
Hello All!
Today would mark Toby's 23rd Birthday. Her first since her untimely death.
I've pledged to spend each New Year's alone (the anniversary of her murder). Since that is New Year's I feel it's a meaningful ritual.
But what to do for her birthday... A day of celebration?
Maybe I should go and visit her friends... My friends.
Indeed just on that point, I realised something in my many musings the other day... For instance, how could I ever get married knowing that Toby wasn't going to be attending? It seems such an absurdity. She's the kind of essential guest that you would change the wedding date for so she could make it.
But more than that. . .
Every single groomsman sitting up my end of table would be someone I know only because of Toby.
That is the measure of impact she's had on my life.
I'll think I'll do that... go and visit Jimmy, invite Vlad around, go out for dinner or something.
Mainly because, well, Jimmy cannot remember what day it is, let alone birthdays. He relies on me for that sort of thing. He'd want to know it was Toby's birthday.
Hmmmm....
