This is a manga that I can't wait for an update. There was a period of time when I went to youtube just to watch street dance battles. Why is this? Because of this manga ^_^ Even if it should be really hard to translate dancing into manga, Matsumoto-san does a really good job. Read it!

I really, really like this manga because the main character is absolutely amazing. She's not overly emotional; she frankly doesn't care! It's such a breath of fresh air and she's a great role model ^_^
Sasameke by Gotsubo Ryuji
Rakuichi was a better soccer player than anyone when he was in elementary school. But after 3 unsuccessful years in Italy, he returns home in defeat. Upon arrival he's confronted by a host of different characters. His cousin Biwako who is now a teacher despite her uncontrollable personality. His childhood friend Inae who is cute and nice but who turns into a crazed stalker when it comes to cool, attractive guys. Touzan who is cool, mysterious and seems to be good at everything. And Maiko, who is incredibly beautiful but turns violent on the slightest whim. Great artwork, hilarious comedy and a unique style are the hallmarks of this manga.
I don't know what made me download this manga to begin with, but I was so glad that I did. There was a time when all I wanted to read was sports related manga (after devouring Prince of Tennis lol) and I didn't want to read any of Adachi's stuff and I had already read what there was of Whistle!, so... there was this! It's really cool @_@ I wish scanlation was faster lol Sorry for the rambling, but I just can't put into words the reason why you should read it... you just should ^_^;
Shion no Ou by Katori Masaru
Yasuoka Shion lost her parents, and her voice, when she was young in a murder. She was found amidst a blood-soaked room, and the only hint for the suspect was a Shougi board and one piece: the King.
Now, Shion steps into the world of female professional Shougi players. As her popularity and fame slowly rises, so do the questions about her past, particularly the murder case that was never solved.
This was after my Hikaru no Go phase ^_^ (actually, I'm still in it *cough*). The thought that she was playing a game like go made me want to read it. There are similarities between the manga and that's basically a young child being some kind of prodigy in a game none of us can... however, that's where it ends! Despite the game playing, this manga is deeper.
Doubt!! by Izumi Kaneyoshi
Ai Maekawa, a shy, pimply, slighty overweight junior-high nobody, never gets noticed by anyone and she's sick of it. She undergoes a complete makeover before entering her new high school as a brand new pretty and popular girl, where she hopes no one will find out about her past.
I absolutely loved this manga, from start to finish (it's complete!). It seems sort of average, but there's just parts in it that make you squee and parts that make you sympathize with the main characters... just, all around, it's a must read for all girls ^_^ Guys can read it, too, but I'm not sure if you'd like it, honestly -_-;
