Matt and I decided to hold our own Thanksgiving at home this year rather than travel, and we had an absolute blast. The mostly organic menu was:
- A honey-baked ham (The only non-organic item, but from a local farm; low sodium, 90% fat free, and really darn good!)
- cranberry & orange relish
- corn bread
- potato bread
- apple crisp w/vanilla ice cream & drizzled w/honey
- salad greens
- butter & honey for the breads
We fixed a large plate full of a everything from our menu and filled two drinking horns with dark beer, and offered it to our alfar & disir and house vaettir, as well as our friends among the Vear, before sitting down to enjoy our feast. It was a fun, relaxing meal and we enjoyed it, taking the opportunity to discuss plans for our upcoming Jul feast as well as some other plans for the future.
