DARFUR RALLY!!!

May 01, 2006 19:54

This weekend was the longest and most sleepless weekend of my life.... ok well its up in the top 5. Roslyn bus stop was 30 minutes late but we had around 20 of us, so we clearly made the cool half of the bus. We ended up getting to Riveredge on time and then rode to DC and arrived at 3:30-4:00 amish. Finally got settled and ready to sleep at 4:45amish and then some genious decided to pull the fire alarm at 5:15amish, causing us all to listen to the loud and most unpleasant sound of a fire alarm for 3 hours because nobody had the key to turn it off. We then left to go to the GW Hillel, lead a peulah on Darfur, ate brunch, listened to speakers (including Ruth Messinger herself!) then went off to the rally! I think it was the most fun, exhausting and most satisfying weekend. I got to see Melissa, Reuben, Elan, Madeline, Sam, Shai, Jared, Bobby, Sara Sands and everyone else I forgot to mention. Also, the most amazing part was that we cheered the most..so loud that Danielle and Sasha came over and decided to join us! Finally, school people realize that YJ really is amazing!

So today I was soooo tired because even though I slept in, I still felt as if I was running on 30 minutes. So I didnt go to school, and instead went to work. It was weird, I was filing really slowly so I wouldnt mess up due to my tiredness, and I had a really big headache. Just add the cherry to my ice-cream of hell, we had a yom hazikaron/haatzmaut ceremony/event on the 2nd floor. Guess who performed?... THE CARAVAN... I had to sit through their terrible performance, practically on the floor laughing. It was sooo funny. They are all pre-madonnas and think they are the shit and I just sat there the whole time trying to hold back my laughter.... how could you be serious when you have 10, 17-18 year olds jumping around singing "happy birthday Israel!"... well I laughed alot and then left because I was sooo tired.

Ok back to Darfur Rally....Pictures are worth a thousand words, so I will share my weekend visually achshav!
