Something has gone horribly wrong in the City of Angels.
Entire Clans of vampires generations deep have begun to literally cannibalize their family. Others have turned on their intended, those they once intended to turn have been found in the streets torn to pieces or used as living furniture and living works of bloody art.
Wandering vampires have not been left out, the longer they linger the less control they have over themselves. They cannot pull in their fangs, their eyes are permanently a particular shade of blood red, they cannot stop feeding...
Something is driving the vampires insane. Some think it is the work of a Human Cult raising a cloud of Murder ... others debate the stability of vampires in general and say it is simply natural ... some cannot see anything wrong at all.
The stars have finally fallen in the city of Los Angeles.
