OK, here are the things I made in 2010. I don't seem to have done as much as in 2009.

You're probably doing the knit/plain stitch then. How are you doing it? Do you use your right index finger to put the yarn over the needle, or do you hold the yarn in your left hand? The first is English, the second continental. You could have a go at each, using the vids on that site, to see which suits you better.

I've known knitters who were advised to keep knitting to keep their hands active. Or maybe holding the knitting up with the rigid needles is aggravating your wrists. That can be a real strain, so using circulars (actually two points connected with a flexible cable) will help as the knitting weight then falls in your lap and you don't have to hold it up. In many countries (e.g. Norway) they don't even sell rigid straight needles because you can use circulars for anything. I buy the Knitpicks or Knitpro ones: a couple of different cable lengths and lots of different sized interchangeable points.

Also, once you get going, join Ravelry. I get almost all my patterns there; a great resource and so easily searchable.

Ah, your wrist again? That's a pity, but I understand that as the kneading would be hard work. Hmmm. What else could I do swopsies for?

One thing I want to do now I'm getting so much better and more confident is to knit or crochet fannish figures like Vila and Avon. :-D
