in the ranks of the unemployed
Got laid off on Wednesday due to no work coming into the company and the lack of income from the general contractors that we have been working for, word has it that I may not get my last paycheck on time. Seeing as that 2 of my 3 kids are not going to public schools anymore we really don't have anything tying us to the wretched city anymore so I'm looking at jobs from Abilene east. But the deal is is that I can't apply for a job as a journeyman until I get my license because most applications ask for a license # that I don't have yet.
I filed for unemployment on Thursday morning once I got the official word that I had been laid off but I'm expecting this last shop to tell the state that I had quit or was fired. Even though my pay will get cut in half at least I'll be getting something and with the SSI we get at the end of the month we still have something coming in.
Right now I have to sort through about 20 or so job listings that the Texas Workforce Commission has sent me.
