1995 Virago

First off, let me say that, no matter how nice the sales staff are, it's just humiliating shopping for a motorcycle when you are under 5 feet tall.  And really, does every sales guy have to say "And the paintjob is really pretty!" Cuz, y'know, that makes me feel like I'm being treated as a serious buyer.

Makes me wanna open my own little store, w/ tiny bikes, and tiny sales staff.  I'd probably make a very tiny amount of money and the business would only last for a very short time.  Harrumph.   And yes, I know all about Ridley.  I know they cost too much, are difficult to get serviced, and all but one model are auto trans, so no fun!

Now the big announcement:   I found a bike that fits with a little more power than dear old Darlene.

I can't be picky like most riders.  I have to find a bike that fits and then hope the price isn't ridiculous, and then the big test is: Can I lift it off it's kickstand?  If I can say yes to all 3, I must not worry about the paint job, the brand, the year, the accesories, the number of cylinders, how loud or quiet it is, etc.

But hey!  I like the paint job on this one.  It's older than I'd like, but way newer than Darlene.  The engine is bigger than the Honda Aero I wanted (too fat/awkward/heavy) too.  And while I feel I was gouged, I did stay well below my budget.  And speaking of age, based on my limited research of this model, they don't make the virago this big any more.  No wonder it didn't come up in my searches for new, short bikes.

I can't bring it home until Friday, due to my work schedule.  So PLEASE don't let it rain this weekend!

See you on the road!
