Frostbite ~ Part Two: Slow Freeze - Chapter Six
Chapter 6~
Noriko sat on her bed looking at her hands.
“Are you sure?”
“um.” She said nodding at Akira’s question.
“Wow, that’s bad.” She said, “Demo…you’ve been together since Highschool are you sure he would cheat on you?”
Noriko shook her head. “That’s why this is…” she let a few more tears leak out of her eyes when Akira got off her bed and hugged her.
“It’ll be alright Noriko.” She said rubbing Noriko’s back. “I’m sure of it.”
“Since Highschool he was all I thought about…” Noriko cried, “He was the only one I saw myself with ever…”
“Shhh, it’s alright…” Akira said feeling tears gather in her eyes. ‘Why am I crying?’ Akira thought as a few fell down her cheeks.
“I thought he was amazing…I just wanted to be special to him and when…I felt it every day, but now…it feels just like a lie…like everything, loving him being with him, it was all a lie.”
Akira clung to Noriko and cried with her friend, she knew Sho didn’t cheat on her but seeing her in so much pain was almost too much for her to bare.

Sho sat on his bed after his talk with Jun and couldn’t help but think this could’ve been avoided if he’d just not to Japan at all. He could’ve been content with just seeing her on Skype. But he wanted to be near her. He wanted to hold her and just smell her scent. He wanted her and yet he was further away from her than he was when he was in America.
~2 weeks later~
Noriko smiled a bit as Fujigaya cracked a Joke making the others laugh, but she couldn’t find it in herself to laugh or even joke around.
“Come on Noriko…smile…Please?” Mizumi said by her side.
“I am smiling.”
“She means for real.” Fujigaya said looking at her, “We all know what happened between Sho and You.”
Noriko turned and looked at Akira who was hiding behind Fujigaya making her sigh. “I’m fine.” She said, “I have to go.”
“Noriko.”
“I’ll see you later at Satoshi’s.” she walked away from the group sadly.
Mizumi watched her go with a pout, “Alright what are we going to do to help her?”
“We need to talk to Nino.” Akira said, “He would know what was wrong right?”
“Where has he been?” Fujigaya asked, “I haven’t seen him around in a while, he leaves early and comes back to the dorm late.”
“Yeah, I haven’t seen him around in a while either.” Mizumi said looking at Satoshi who was looking down.
“Sato?”
“He’s been staying at my apartment in the spare room.” Ohno said looking away.
“Ohno!” Akira said throwing up her hands.
“Nani? He was really upset about Noriko and I had to help him out.” Ohno said rubbing the back of his head and blushing slightly.
“Okay, that’s it we have to get Noriko to talk to Sho.” Fujigaya said nodding, when Akira sighed. “She won’t even mention his name anymore how the hell are we going to get them to talk?”
“Leave that to me I have my ways.” Fujigaya said leaning down and kissing her breathless.
Akira felt her knees give way when he pulled away. She looked after him with her eyes half lulled and a small grin on her face.
“Well, that’s one way to quite her down.” Ohno said softly making Mizumi giggle.

Noriko was in her room talking to Rin on Skype.
“How are you holding up?” Rin asked looking at her. “And don’t lie.”
“I’m alright.” Noriko said shrugging making Rin growl at her.
“I said don’t lie.” Rin pounded on her desk and looked around noticing her roommate was still asleep.
“I don’t want to talk about it alright?” Noriko said she was sitting with her back to the wall, she looked over at her bedside table and saw the picture she’d once adored was flipped down so she couldn’t see his face. “How are things with you and Jun?”
Rin sighed, “I seriously don’t know.”
“What do you mean?” Noriko asked moving closer to her camera, making Rin move away and laugh.
“We’ve been sort of on a break…for a while.”
“A break! Hontou?” Noriko asked, “Why didn’t I know of this?”
“Because you were in Japan and I don’t understand the means of Cell phone usage.” Rin said softly, “It’s been horrible, all I can think about is him…ugh, he was the one that wanted space thought, that tool.”
“Serious?” Noriko leaned back and put her computer away from her face, “I thought he was totally…”
“Yeah…” Rin sighed, “It could’ve been because of my new Chemistry partner…his name is Hiromitsu Kitayama.”
“Oh hottie?” Noriko asked without much enthusiasm. Rin rolled her eyes.
“Yes Noriko, he’s so hot I’m thinking of throwing away everything I’ve loved and cared for, oh god I just can’t help myself! Where is he now? I must jump him!” Rin said in a high pitched voice while batting her eye lashes and Noriko grinned a bit before shaking her head.
“Sorry.”
“You should be, but yeah he’s kind of…okay he’s VERY good looking.” Rin said sighing, “But, I’d never hurt Jun like that…as idiotic as he seems I love him.”
Noriko laughed the first time in two weeks and smiled at Rin, “Yeah, he’s an a…well you know how I feel about him.”
“Contrary to how you use to feel about him, didn’t you hate his guts, but then started hanging out with him more than I did.”
“You worked!” Noriko said throwing up her hands.
“Yeah, well Sho and I were stalking you two just to make sure.” Rin said laughing when he saw the sad look that crossed Noriko’s face. “Hey…”
“I’m sorry.” Noriko looked away from her laptop. “I’m fine.”
“Noriko, you know I don’t believe Sh…he cheated on you with that girl.” Rin said stumbling over his name. “Do you?”
“I don’t know what to believe.” Noriko said, “I trusted him and I saw him kissing another girl?”
“Are you sure she wasn’t kissing him?” Rin asked, when Noriko didn’t answer she sighed, “Noriko do you still love Sho?”
Noriko looked at Rin before nodding unable to trust her voice.
“Then I think you should talk to him because talking to me isn’t going to help.” Rin folded her arms and Noriko picked up the computer.
“How can I even look him in the face Rin?” She asked, “You know how I’ve felt about him, I feel as if when I’m with him I’m always breathless, as if time stops and he’s the only thing right in this world.”
“I know.” Rin said softly, “Seriously I do, but you need to stop running from him.”
“I think what scares me the most is that…one if I talk to him and he did cheated on me? How…” Noriko shook her head, “I’m just going to put him out of my mind.”
“Noriko…”
“I don’t need this Rin, and if Sho Sakurai doesn’t want to be with me then fine.” Noriko got an angry glint in her eye. “I’ll talk to you some other time.”
“Wait! We-”
Noriko slammed her computer shut and looked out into space, ‘I won’t cry over someone that doesn’t want me…I’ll never do such a thing.’
Her phone rang and she answered it.
“Baby Sister!”
Noriko looked at the phone and for once didn’t want to talk to Yori, it’s been a while since they’ve spoken, but the anger she felt was now simmering down.
“Noriko? You there?”
“Yeah, I’m here…Where have you been Yori?” Noriko asked looking up at the ceiling and letting her head fall back.
“I have so much to tell you…I’m married!”

Noriko sat on her bed looking at her hands.

“um.” She said nodding at Akira’s question.

“Shhh, it’s alright…” Akira said feeling tears gather in her eyes. ‘Why am I crying?’ Akira thought as a few fell down her cheeks.

Akira clung to Noriko and cried with her friend, she knew Sho didn’t cheat on her but seeing her in so much pain was almost too much for her to bare.

Sho sat on his bed after his talk with Jun and couldn’t help but think this could’ve been avoided if he’d just not to Japan at all. He could’ve been content with just seeing her on Skype. But he wanted to be near her. He wanted to hold her and just smell her scent. He wanted her and yet he was further away from her than he was when he was in America.

Noriko smiled a bit as Fujigaya cracked a Joke making the others laugh, but she couldn’t find it in herself to laugh or even joke around.
“Come on Noriko…smile…Please?” Mizumi said by her side.
“I am smiling.”
“She means for real.” Fujigaya said looking at her, “We all know what happened between Sho and You.”
Noriko turned and looked at Akira who was hiding behind Fujigaya making her sigh. “I’m fine.” She said, “I have to go.”
“Noriko.”
“I’ll see you later at Satoshi’s.” she walked away from the group sadly.
Mizumi watched her go with a pout, “Alright what are we going to do to help her?”
“We need to talk to Nino.” Akira said, “He would know what was wrong right?”
“Where has he been?” Fujigaya asked, “I haven’t seen him around in a while, he leaves early and comes back to the dorm late.”
“Yeah, I haven’t seen him around in a while either.” Mizumi said looking at Satoshi who was looking down.
“Sato?”
“He’s been staying at my apartment in the spare room.” Ohno said looking away.
“Ohno!” Akira said throwing up her hands.
“Nani? He was really upset about Noriko and I had to help him out.” Ohno said rubbing the back of his head and blushing slightly.
“Okay, that’s it we have to get Noriko to talk to Sho.” Fujigaya said nodding, when Akira sighed. “She won’t even mention his name anymore how the hell are we going to get them to talk?”
“Leave that to me I have my ways.” Fujigaya said leaning down and kissing her breathless.
Akira felt her knees give way when he pulled away. She looked after him with her eyes half lulled and a small grin on her face.
“Well, that’s one way to quite her down.” Ohno said softly making Mizumi giggle.

Noriko was in her room talking to Rin on Skype.
“How are you holding up?” Rin asked looking at her. “And don’t lie.”
“I’m alright.” Noriko said shrugging making Rin growl at her.
“I said don’t lie.” Rin pounded on her desk and looked around noticing her roommate was still asleep.
“I don’t want to talk about it alright?” Noriko said she was sitting with her back to the wall, she looked over at her bedside table and saw the picture she’d once adored was flipped down so she couldn’t see his face. “How are things with you and Jun?”
Rin sighed, “I seriously don’t know.”
“What do you mean?” Noriko asked moving closer to her camera, making Rin move away and laugh.
“We’ve been sort of on a break…for a while.”
“A break! Hontou?” Noriko asked, “Why didn’t I know of this?”
“Because you were in Japan and I don’t understand the means of Cell phone usage.” Rin said softly, “It’s been horrible, all I can think about is him…ugh, he was the one that wanted space thought, that tool.”
“Serious?” Noriko leaned back and put her computer away from her face, “I thought he was totally…”

“I don’t need this Rin, and if Sho Sakurai doesn’t want to be with me then fine.” Noriko got an angry glint in her eye. “I’ll talk to you some other time.”

Her phone rang and she answered it.
“Baby Sister!”
Noriko looked at the phone and for once didn’t want to talk to Yori, it’s been a while since they’ve spoken, but the anger she felt was now simmering down.
“Noriko? You there?”
“Yeah, I’m here…Where have you been Yori?” Noriko asked looking up at the ceiling and letting her head fall back.
“I have so much to tell you…I’m married!”
