For those of you who are Detective Conan/Magic Kaito fans:
Do you think of Kuroba Kaito and Kaitou Kid as one person with an alter-ego, or is KID a split personality?

I ask because I'm reading threethieves for the first time and they've got Kid talking back and forth with Kaito in a not-entirely-metaphorical way - and I've seen this done before. I'd like to think KID is a mask that Kaito puts on, but I'm not as big of an enthusiast as most of his fans (I tend towards Conan/Kudou), so I'm curious what you guys think.
