chikapus - would it be considered trying to stump you if I requested a Tsubasa/Okami crossover? Of the Pre-Tokyo timing?
She was a magnificent white wolf; her coat was damp from the recent rain, her paws dirt-brown from mud, but she was a perfect white from nose to tail otherwise.
"Oh!" Princess Sakura exclaimed when she saw it, her hands flying to her mouth. "She's beautiful!"
Syaoran agreed verbally, but gently took the Princess' arm to keep her away. Beautiful she was, but a wild wolf was dangerous, even for someone like Sakura. "Please be careful, Princess," he urged.
But Fye fake-whistled and Kurogane stared for a long moment, and Mokona, strange small creature that he was, bounded out of Kurogane's hair. "Wai, it's Omikami! Omikami!"
"Heh," said the wolf, in a tiny voice. "What the heck are you!? You can see Ammy's true form, huh? Pretty impressive!" It took Syaoran a moment to realize it was the bouncing green insect on the wolf's head that spoke, not the wolf itself.
"True form?" he heard himself say, even as Fye bowed deeply and Kurogane lifted his chin.
"A god, huh?" Kurogane said.
The wolf leaned back on its haunches, stretching and yawning, before trotting towards Sakura. Syaoran put out his arm before Sakura, but the wolf ignored him and Sakura put out her hand, tenative; the wolf nosed her fingers and let out a bark.
"Hey, guys, I think Ammy has something she wants to show you," said the insect. "Keep up if you can!"
The wolf pricked her ears and turned to trot off, looking over her shoulder to see if they would follow. Fye shrugged. "It's not everyday you see a wolf with markings like that," he said, with a smile for Sakura. "Shall we see where she leads us?"
"Markings?" Syaoran asked, but Sakura spoke over him: "I think we should!"
"All right! Onwards, intrepid explorers! You too, Kuronyon," Fye laughed, taking Sakura's hand and leading the way.
"... It's just a white wolf," Syaoran said protestingly, even as Kurogane grunted protest at the nickname and fell into step with them.
"Not 'just'," Kurogane said, with a calculating look for Syaoran. "But maybe for a man of science like you, believing in something like her is a little too much."
