Sakura-con 2008
I'm back and I'm not dead! Hooray!
Anyway, I'm going to attempt something like a real con report, but because I am punk, it will be short and silly!
Basically I went to go see azremodehar and killyoudead, so I flew out on Tuesday because that made it cheaper. It was A+. We were silly. I saw Pike Place Market and finally got to tell the fish guys that I've seen their motivational video at three out of the six jobs I've held down. The weather was hilarious and schizophrenic, as if Sea-Tac area was putting on a show. "Look," the weather said. "Look, we can do more than just rain! WE CAN ALSO HAS SNOW AND HAIL! And sun!"
I caught a cold and Mucinex saved my life!

azremodehar, Brian, Nate, Dave, John, Pam, etc - thank you for hosting me and putting up with my OMG WRYYYY about having a cold. You were awesome and sweet. Azy knows we had EPIC TIEMS OF AWESOME.
killyoudead - thank you for coming out to Tacoma (and not getting stabbed) to see me and hang out and do fun random stuff. It was so exciting getting to meet you, and I hope I can come out again soon and see you!
sudama - as;ldfaljk YAAAAAAY. It's always so much fun to meet people on my flist! I am glad to hear you are feeling better, although I am sad to hear you did not have an awesome time at con. D= Should I come back out we should have awesome hangout tiems as well.
lionboogy - for always being awesome and putting up with me being all blaaaaaaargh I IS TIRED AND COLD at you. I want to do fun things of awesome besides take pictures (although that is awesome too). How can I make this possible?
genjitsu - for A+ if brief hanging-out tiems. Although we could not meet up for drinks (again!) this time it can be blamed on con and its periodically fail scheduling! For once I is not pathetic! I'm glad you made it back home, even if it was 'eventually' rather than 'quickly'.
nitrojen - thank you for being the best Kanda at con. I am emo we could not take pictures together, but it really was a great costume. I had a lot of fun talking briefly on Sunday!
EBK - for taking photos of my costume again, whee!
nekokoban - for putting in a valiant effort to meet up with me. I am emo because we could not meet up. ;____; get a cell phone! XD;;

Everyone at the D.gray-man photoshoot - your lj names escape me atm, but I'm sorry I will not see you at ACen. ;___; HAVE A GOOD TIME THERE FOR ME, OKIE?

Friday
So azremodehar and I woke up late (okay, she woke up late - I was still on East Coast time, so I woke up at 6 AM)at Pam's and lazed around and drank tea and tried to recover from crappy weather in Seattle the day before. Then Azy finished her costumes and I bound myself down with duct tape and we RUSHED TO SAKURACON.
At 4 PM!
We wandered around dressed as Hao and Yoh and actually got recognized! Unfortunately I don't have pictures of this cosplay! There will, however, eventually be pictures. We watched the AMVs with killyoudead which were awesome, but I don't have much to judge against since I don't usually watch AMVs. But it introduced me to a new anime, Risky Safety!
It hurt to take off the sports tape and duct tape! My boobs were sticky despite showers. >___>; We were both dead of allergies and colds.
Saturday
I started out in Allen for sudama and Azy wore Hao all day again. Heavy cloak is heavy! I went to the D.Gray-man photoshoot and there were silly tiems for a while and met sudama there! And people I met at ACen two years ago as well! I am sad because I don't remember their LJ names, alas. >__>; I also saw nitrojen while in this costume, but only in passing.
Nitrojen: OMG nice costume!
Me: LAWL COMPLIMENT FROM KANDA!? THE WORLD IS ENDING!
(I am so glad she didn't take that the wrong way.)
Then I got into Yuugi for the remainder of the day. HILARIOUS COSTUME IS HILARIOUS. This was the first time I'd worn it altogether and I felt very pleased by the effect. Apparently Con was pleased as well because I don't think I've ever had a costume have so many pictures taken, ever.
(The best part was when people totally walked right by me and went to Azy. "OMG HAO CAN WE HAS PICTURE!?" BECAUSE HAO IS AWESOMER THAN YUUGI. SORRY YUUGI.)
Amongst noteworthy hilarity:
--Not being able to drink my coffee because of picture requests
--A posse of fangirls jumping me, then bowing at my feet. "WE ARE NOT WORTHY!" (I think Yuugi would be scared.)
--LAWL YUUGI ENDORSES COKE.
--"OMG IS THAT A WIG?" "......."
--killyoudead being 4kids and censoring Yuugi smoking cigarettes. >__>;;
--meeting Lostsoul, who has the best Dark Bakura costume ever with Best Dark Bakura Wig Ever. And Best Millennium Ring Ever.
--playing Tetris with Dark Bakura. And winning.
--BEING THE MAIN CHARACTER
--"I play the DEUS EX MACHINA CARD! KURIBOH!"
--Dueling an ATM. And losing.
--Summonning the Dark Magician Girl, who was very awesome as well
--"Shut up, Mokuba!" (Adorable Mokuba was adorable!)
--offering myself up (with Dark Bakura) for fangirl glomping at the Spin The Bottle (Glomp variation)
We (Azy and I) stayed up WAY TOO LATE waiting for the AMV Hell 4 to get out for Brian, then we went home and passed out cold.
Sunday
We got out the door really late, and Brian forgot his badge at home, so I was late for the Yuugioh photoshoot! (DOOM.) So I called Lostsoul who relayed the message and EVERYONE WAITED FOR ME. Because we were also waiting for Dark Malik. All three Dark personalities FTW! There was a baby Dark Magician Girl who was SO CUTE! She was like 4 and her mother was dressed as Isis! It was awesome! We even had a Dartz! The Dark personalities stepped on all the regular people. Haha, regular people.
lionboogy took pictures of my Yuugi costume and they are awesome and also hilariously emo. it must be Oricalchos Arc!Dark Yuugi! XD;;;
Then Brian, Azy, olesia and I all went out for food a few blocks away. A couple of random Japanese guys took pictures with me at the food court. O___o They were like "HEY WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE DRESSED AS" and it made me lawl.
Kids on the street: *stare* "HEY MOM THAT WAS--"
And then I saw AWESOME CHAPTER 100 SYAORAN OF AWESOME!!!!! (And her Kurogane!) AND THEY WERE SO GOOD AND ASLDGAJKSDL I FANGIRLED!
And then we went home and watched Risky Safety because there was nothing else interesting to do at con.
