*sigh*
I miss Minnesota. Don't know why, really. I mean, I do. But it's August. Which means, if I can remember that far back, going outside is like living in a swimming pool, only without the cool water around you. On the other hand, here... Let's just say, M and I went into the city the other day and it got just warm/sunny enough for us to drool at the Starbuck add for the 'Raspberry/Blackcurrent Frappicino' poster. The day remained bright enough that when we hit the one on our street, we splurged. It was very good. But about a minute and a half after I get inside to settle down to work with my frosty fruity tarty concoction as encouragement, I'm freezing. To the bone, chilled. I had to put socks on. And a sweater! WTF?!?!?!?!
Or maybe it's the news of the Father's Family's Reunion. Apparently my sister is now talking (thanks for the news flash dad! *w*). Yup, 'mom,' 'dad,' 'hi,' and 'bye' are apparently all in the vocab. Pops also felt the need to remind me about Minnesota corn, the wanker. Man, I miss that stuff. It's (maize in general, not Minnesota corn) on sale at Tesco again, but I can't bring myself to buy some after the last disaster. My tastebuds have just recovered.
The subject (line and train of thought) was inspired by hearing 'The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.' Thus, I was listening to some more Gordon Lightfoot, and had a question. Does anyone else think it's unusual for a guy from Ontario (if I remember correctly) to have such a thing for maritime-type songs? I mean, Hudson Bay's huge, but are there many sailors from Ontario? Seems...fishy *giggle*
Okay, apparently I need sleep. I also need to do laundry. I also need to clean. And box up some stuff. And, oh yeah, finish the gotverdamt thesis.
Oh, and if anybody wants to suggest a new layout to commemorate the trans-Atlantic move and change in title, I'm all ears. Colors, themes, honestly reflecting my personality, absolutely absurd, god-awful, whatever...
