Well, here it is, my first ever blog entry on my first ever blog. It's taken me a while to "get with the times" so to speak. I've been "journaling" ever since I was 13 and read Anne Frank for the first time. Of course, there was no Internet back in those days, my family didn't even own a computer (how many "average Joes" did back in 1987), so I did it the old fashioned way: pen and a blank book, usually one with the most beautiful or original cover I could find in the bookstore. I'm amazed that you can still go into a Border's and find a wide selection of blank books. I'd have thought they would have gone out of favor by now. I still have a book that I am working on, and I may still do that, for my own edification. Besides, who knows, maybe I won't like journaling this way. Or... maybe it will be easier: no writer's cramp, no making mistakes that I will have to cross out, no having to run out and buy more pens (I go through them like they're going out of style)... or, more books!
Well, like I said in my profile, I'm here looking to connect with people. People of all different backgrounds and beliefs, from different walks of life, all with experiences and opinions to share, advice to give, food for thought to serve. I had someone very special in my life who I used to share things with, have deep conversations with. However, there were things in the relationship that were a little "off", and those things brought the relationship to an end a few weeks ago. I'll probably write about it at some point, just to get it out in the open - wounds have to be exposed to air in order to heal at some point in time. I guess I'm trying to make up for what I've lost by coming here, sharing bits of my days, reading about what other people are doing, getting a boost from someone or another, even if it's from reading about someone else's bad day if I am having a bad one myself, to remind myself that we're all in the same boat in this our life.
Anyway, if you are an open-minded sort, who has better things to do than to judge what others write in their blogs and how others live their life, welcome to the Den of Iniquity. Come on in and sit a spell. Put your feet up. I'll be passing out the wine and (dark) chocolate, plus generous helpings of Bitching-and-Moaning, Opining, Contemplation, Dancing and Celebrating. Whatever fits my mood.
I feel like I am beginning a new adventure, not knowing where it will take me. Everyone blogs or writes for their own purposes. For me, it's like I am setting out on a journey into uncharted territory... I have all the supplies I need, I know what direction I want to head into, I just don't know what I will find. The prospect of finding something wonderful excites me.
Well, I'm feeling tired, and it's after midnight. Time to roll up the carpet and hit the hay. Night, all!
