Athena died sometime today.
I checked on her this morning and she seemed to be doing the same as she had for the past two weeks.
When I came home from work I went over to refill the girls' food and noticed she was lying really still with her head under some shavings. This was not entirely abnormal for her lately. So I rattled the cage like I have been for a few weeks being that I was scared to touch her lifeless body.
This time unlike all the rest she's actually dead.
Poor Cheryl is freaking out. I put her in her baby cage and made her a hammock but she's still going nuts. She obviously knows Athena is dead. I'm already debating on getting another rat just to keep poor Cheryl company. I guess we'll see how she's doing come the weekend.
I'm hoping that the lack of tears means that I got over it when I realised she was sick.
Cam showed up last night and helped me bury her.
