i'm horrible at keeping this thing updated, sorry. i don't have a lot of time, and there is far too much to cover since i've last posted, so i'm not even going to try. instead, i'm just going to repost the blog entry i made on myspace today. here ya go:
In case you hadn't noticed, I'm in Wisconsin right now.
One of the best parts about this fact, is that, unlike you kids in Kansas, I'mnot sweating my perverbial balls off in the 105 degree heat with lots of humidity. :-) haha! The highs for all of this week in Madison are in the low 80s, and low to mid 60s at night! Yay for hoodie weather! I WIN!
Sunday night was spent not sleeping, washing about 3/4 of the clothes that i own, and packing things for cheese country. I got about 45 minutes of sleep between 7 and 8am on Monday morning, and then continued packing and getting ready to leave.
I do not endorse the idea of packing on no sleep. Even after 3 trips back to my house, I still managed for forget a bunch of things. The top 3 things I forgot are:
1. reading material. (especially handy on days like today, when i'm alone in the hotel from 7:30am to sometime after 4pm). thank goodness for my computer and the wireless connection here.)
2. the two boxes of granola bars that i had purchased for the trip.
3. my phone charger. thanks to that one, my phone will be off for the majority of the trip. might try to find a cell phone store and buy a car charger.(good idea, Tom....and better idea, Dustin, that if i get it from Radioshack, i can get my money back when i get home!)
The drive up was pretty alright. I even drove for about 45 minutes of it. (and yes, i just learned how to drive stick the day before we left. hehe) Jon hadn't really slept for more than an hour or so, so he was trying to get some sleep. Unfortunately, he can't really sleep in a moving car, and then it started to rain, so my driving time was limited. Oh well. That meant that I got to sleep instead. Which I did. Passed out for about 2 and a half hours, sleeping through the end of Missouri and most of Iowa. What I was awake for, however, just proves my previous statements about Iowa true. It's pretty, but it smells kinda like ass.
I'm very excited for all of the drum corps shows. The first one is tonight. I get to see both the Alumni corps that Jon Lane is in, but Cap. Sound, which Jon#2 is in. Should be pretty awesome.
Ok, although I still have some time to kill here at the hotel, I can't think of anything else to write at the moment.
Later kids.
