*sigh*
Took Jack to the vet, and still unable to get a hold of my dad. he's on a cruise and probably out on the ocean today. anyways, my options were, have them put him to sleep (he's old, and obviously wasn't doing well, liver problems and whatnot and apparently on heavy duty pain meds already), have the vet run a bunch of (expensive) tests (without knowing that that's what my dad would want) that would probably say we need to put him to sleep anyways, or wait until i could get a hold of dad (tomorrow) and find out what he wants to do, and bring jack back to the vet (monday). well.. there was no way i was making the poor dog wait till monday for anything. he wasn't eating, wasn't drinking, wasn't even moving to go to the bathroom. he couldn't walk. so.. I had him put down. I had to do it on my own, without knowing for sure that that's what dad would do, and it sucked hardcore. spent the whole afternoon crying, and i'm not even overly attached to this dog. I know i did the right thing for Jack, like i said, odds are the tests would just say that there wasn't anything more to do, but still. i just wish i could have gotten a hold of dad. I hope he understands.
